Good Morning Everyone, Sheffield Wednesday Chairman Dejphon Chansiri is searching for a new advisor after Adam Pearson opted to quit the Championship club after just three weeks, and has rejoined his beloved Leeds United last night. It is believed that Pearson's role within the club may be similar to Matt Child's who quit amidst the chaos that ensued during Cellino's ban. Pearson will need to bring all his experience to create the much needed stability at our once great club. Three questions that come to mind :- i) Any place for Verity and Faran? ii) Has Pearson been bought in to either fire Redfearn, or, and find a replacement? iii) Where does this leave Andrew Umbers? It was widely reported last night that Neil Redfearn's day are numbered at Elland Road. If and when he goes, who would you like to take over? please log in to view this image
Another day another chapter to our joke 12-years in the doldrums. Pearson was always a Leeds fan but for the last dozen years has been a football nomad since he left the club, where he was Commercial Director under Ridsdale. He was around to get big sponsorship money for the club when we were flying in Europe, but was also party to doing the deal that finally sank the club, as he put the mortgage deal together than relied on a Champions League place nor bust. He left leeds and bought Hull City, and then sold Hull City and moved to Derby County and back to Hull and on to the Wendies. He could be good for us and Cellino obviously doesn't know him but has sought him out because someone's told him to look him over. I feel more confident about things with him in the boardroom, but Umbers needs fooking off and we need some direction. Squad needs to know who goes and stays, Managers position needs sorting and new players need bringing in Urgent please Massimo
Really pleased young Cooke has signed his contract extension and Cellino stated that Mowatt, Byram, Dawson and co are going nowhere. That at least shows some ambition and sense.
You do know we gave Matt Smith a new contract just to get a bigger traqnsfer fee don't you? Start praising Cellinoe at the end of the close season/ transfer window if we still have all these so called quality players.
Morning Doc, re the mortgage deal that sank us. We'd have been saying it was a stroke of genius had it worked out. Obviously it didn't, and we have been paying the price ever since. Biggest disaster that season was letting McAllister go. He came up with SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many goals in the last couple of minutes for Liverpool that mananged to keep their noses in front. Liverpool would not have finished above us, if they didn't have McAllister.
Morning Matt, good thanks and hope likewise? On a sardine stopper to Waterloo atm, usual rush hour thing!
Morning all. Nothing to add on the merry go round as I dont understand one iota of whats going on. One thing for sure though, Pearson not working for free, so another hand in the cookie jar
Morning...... I hope your sources are corrct and redfearn is clearing his desk, it's not what I am hearing! I understand that Pearson is acting as middleman between Cellino and Redfearn and trying to bring both back to the table for contract talks. I would call it good business if we get decent money for them (because they really arn't half as good as many here seem to think) and all monies are reinvested, but the chances of cellino actually buying someone with real money are.........................................
I think, good morning BTW from a sunny Bardsey that Pearson could have been brought in to smooth the sale to Red Bull or some other interested party At last please note I agree with Glory yes Matt Smith was given another contract so we would get more money for his transferand this could apply to Cook and other young lads MC is no fool and he will get his pound of flesh one way or another.I feel that the next month will show whether or not he will call it a day I shall miss him but the circus must leave town and stability brought in
Redders is a deadman walking for me I would like someone that has experience of th championship and know whats required to get us out of this league Mark Warburton would be one to consider along with the manager of Watford
I would take bent nose from Ipswich if they don't get up. He gets the very best out of crap players, and god knows we have plenty of those. The football might not be the prettiest but at least its effective and everyone puts a shift in.
Good shout Glory because Cooke is really the only one who could make it big and reminds me of Delph. As we've seen recently our academy isn't a patch on what is was and we loved players like Lees, White, Howson, Parker but only Howson made the prem and he will never make a top prem side or an England shirt. The kid Garbutt at Everton is starting to make a breakthrough but not England quality. Not so long ago almost every team in the prem had an ex academy player with them, and many were playing for their country, we just have Delph and fatty at Man City these days
Morning ell, that's like putting all your money on black and calling it a stroke of genius of it comes up. At the time it was too much of a risky gamble, and an unnecessary one as we already had a good side. We didn't need to splash the cash on Ferdinand, Fowler, Seth Johnson etc. We were doing fine without them, and we'd still be there now had we not lived beyond our means.
