Of course we would. I bow down to your superior knowledge...

We would have gone bust if not for Fergie then eh? The whole clubs existence can be attributed to just that one man? Without him, no united right...

    Bullshit!

It really is simple. Imagine someone new came along TODAY and wanted to buy the club by sticking £800m debt on there.

In reality the club is worth more so I could quite easily have said £1.5b-£2b debt on there but lets just stick to £800m.

No takers???? How confident would anyone feel about that if it happened now.

I didn't say we'd go bust but please feel free to say that if it makes your complete an utter bollocks more believable to yourself.

No one else takes a single word you say seriously by the way.

Oh, and the reason we are where we are and have stayed where we are was down to Ferguson, yes. Only an utter ****wit would believe otherwise. Had he left at the same time as the Glazers put us into such massive debt the house of cards would have collapsed.
The Glazers bought a club that was already completely and utterly firmly established and the reason that it was such an attractive proposition was because we were right at the top of the league in the most popular league in world football and the reason we were at the top of that league is because of Ferguson.

The Glazers have contributed zero to who we are. Not one ****ing jot.

Is MiR seriously arguing this point?
Have you seen what United have spent in the last 10 years compared to Chelsea and City? You are seriously suggesting that it wasn't down to Fergie's astute management that you stayed in the top 4, let alone won titles, during that time?
I forgot though, in MiR land, the power of the name "Manchester United" alone blows all the competition out of the water and they cower in fear at the very thought of playing you.
Pull your head outta your ass MiR, no one could have achieved what SAF did on the budget he had spent. Do I think there was more money for him to spend? Yes.
United pull in more cash than some countries GDP. But for whatever reason, call it austerity, or the Glazers said "No more cash!" or whatever reason, he spent very little (relatively speaking).
He spent less than half the cash other clubs did and kept you, not just competitive, but relatively dominant, at least as far as league titles go.......what would you attribute that success to, if not Fergie?

Hang on....what happened to your original argument that United fans were stupid and disloyal for protesting against the Glazer takeover? You've just agreed that they had a significant impact on United's finances and ability to deal in the transfer market. How is it stupid and disloyal to protest against people stealing money from your club?!

You Chelsea fans who benefited from Roman's spunk money really are clueless when it comes to understanding how proper football clubs are run.

Please tell me where I said the protestors were stupid and disloyal?
I said some of them over reacted, meaning the ones who shunned the club and formed FC United of Manchester.
Because United had the spending power and the managerial nous to stay competitive, which you did, thanks to Fergie.
Stop putting words in peoples mouths.

    Stupid
Or were you complimenting the people without a brain who didn't realise the club could cover the debt and stay competitive?

    Disloyal
Or were you saying that the fans who "overreacted" and stopped supporting the club to start their own weren't disloyal? As it goes, most FCUM fans I know still support United as passionately as they did before the Glazers took over. The difference is they won't buy match tickets or official merchandise as they refuse to prop up the Glazer ownership. The longer the Glazer ownership goes own, the more likely that they will entirely lose touch with United but that's life and how football generations evolve, the same thing happened to Wimbledon.

As ever you're pontificating about another club despite the fact that your limited understanding of it is based on what you read in the papers and on fan forums.

You wandered onto this thread, drafted an ignorant post and are now back tracking as you saw an opportunity to have a pop at UIR.

You are such a tribal gimp.
If I supported United you'd have **** all to say....you have always been the same....

"Anyone with a brain" that means everyone....in general, all the rival fans who said it would be the end of United etc.
I didnt start talking about the fans until the second line.......and now I think about it, stopping supporting the club, for any reason, is kind of disloyal no?

You saw two United fans bickering and decided to try deflect it on to the Chelsea fan, because...what, its breaking your heart to see Chief and MiR have a disagreement?

My opinion of the Glazers is thus....what they did was ****ty, but within the law. I can understand it upsetting people, and why they would want to protest. I cannot understand why someone would stop supporting their club and go make their own.....United existed before the Glazers and will continue to do so afterwards, ditto with Roman and Chelsea.

I didn't deflect anything onto a Chelsea fan. I saw a Chelsea fan lecturing about United despite the fact that you know **** all about United and I called you on it. I couldn't care less about two United fans bickering, my opinion isn't swayed by blind loyalty. In this instance UIR is wrong. The fact that he's effectively agreed with you has screwed up your contribution to this thread, hence you backtracking so you can try and take the piss out of him.

Your OP mocked people like me and Chief. That's fine, you're entitled to an opinion regardless of how ill informed it is. Don't make a fool of yourself by shifting position though. You hold a similar view to UIR, stick to that or shut up.

I repeat, most of the people who protested against the Glazers, including the people who now support FCUM, still support United, they just won't line the Glazers' pockets. This is clearly a subject you are completely clueless about. The FCUM crowd still wanted to watch football and as following another club wasn't an option they created their own. Football fans wanting to watch football, how odd (disloyal)!

Calm down ffs Shteve Bod tries to contribute on the whole forum other than on just the Chelsea board, right or wrong in his comment you're overreacting. Get a grip or you'll go over my knee.

    <laugh> <ok>

He has always been the same, its only he and most of the Arsenal board who cannot stand fans of other clubs talking on their board.
    Its pathetic.

I am a Chelsea fan, but also a fan of football in general. So Sue me, and besides, if I stuck exclusively to the Chelsea board, I'd get bored, there are only like 3 or 4 regular posters on there.
Never mind Shteve, I will leave you to be a whiny little bitch with your own fans <ok>

His comment was about an issue that is very important to many United fans. It was, as I said, flippant and ignorant. He's entitled to express his ill informed opinions but equally he should expect to be called on them, particularly when he casually shifts his stance to try and take the piss out of another poster who clearly winds him up. With respect, I won't be influenced by a Dipper trying to defend his bollox.

I get your point Shteve, I just you're going a bit OTT. We need a bit of drama now and then anyway.

I am sorry if you are just too stupid that to see that I didn't shift my opinion at all.
But make of it what you will. and again, try as hard as you can to argue with non United fans if it makes you feel better,
