Am I alone in thinking there's a real footballer in there somewhere?

I've seen it mentioned on other threads that he'd be one of the players people on here would want to see gone in the summer.

He's not scoring enough yet I know but his recent performances have been a bit of an eye opener for me and I'm not sure about wanting to see him moving on now.

Anyone got any strong views on the guy? Keep or kick to the kerb?

Personally I think he could still yet do a good job for us.

I've never rated the guy and even tho his work rate (I would have thought that's an absolute minimum requirement) has improved, I still think he is substandard and no where near a premier league footballer.

He stays simple as, we don't need wholesale changes. We need another striker and need to sell one. Fletch is the salable one of the two imo. We've tried selling DG and failed. Last year, his contract is up in a year so if he doesn't come good by the end of next season we can let him go then. Fletch on the other hand has a year to go too, but he's a player we can still get a fee for so take it in the summer while we can.

He looked excellent in the Swansea set up before signing for us, so damn right I think there is a footballer in there and that he is starting to prove it..

    Sell Fletch, keep Graham.

His attitude and work rate have been excellent, and you get the impression he WANTS to do well. Fletch couldn't give 2 ****s he just likes the lifestyle now.

Think he may come good, didn't he get into double figures for Swansea? Seems to say the right things when interviewed. Must have lost at least a stone as well which can only help

I wanted DG out but the lad is giving his all. I say keep him, If he does well next season offer him a new deal in January

I agree with selling Fletcher he has only played well 3 or 4 games this season and that is not good enough.

DG, Defoe, Wickham & Ings maybe

I'll be honest. When we signed him I thought he was a good signing and said as much. Looked a very decent player at Swansea to me.

I've felt like a prick for the last 18 months or whatever as a result of thinking that because he's been dire.

Hopefully he keeps going and proves I'm not a moron.

There's already enough evidence pointing to the fact that I am.

Unfortunately not worth a lot of anybody's money judging by performances over the last 2 seasons. Can't see a premiership club buying him, unless Ipswich get promoted. he had his uses inthepast but time to just let him go now for whatever. I really wanted rid of Graham at one point but really pleased that he's putting the effot in now and being of use on the pitch. Haven't a clue what Congerton's thinking will be with the strikeforce next year but Graham has given himself a good chance of staying. Bang in 6 inthe next 3 games and I'll forget everything I've previously said about him!

I don't know, but that'd do.Trouble is, there may be a few who have had there time here but we're just not going to get a lot for them.

We've nothing of worth that we want rid of, however a pittance is fine by me as the space on the wage list is much needed

Is it just coincidence that two of our previous 'lepers', players everybody wanted rid of, are looking different players under Advocaat? We're not just talking Graham, but Coates looks a different player now as well.. I'm tempted to say I wish we could borrow Altidore back for two games now, just to see what Dick would make of him. Overall, I liked Poyet, but I'm beginning to wonder how many players were almost ruined by his addiction to systems.

The point stands up though, doesn't it? If I'd said lets keep Coates and Graham three weeks ago, you'd have accused me of drinking heavily then too. (Just for the record, I haven't touched a drink since Saturday). So how many players did Gus's system ruin?

His leading of the line has been very good in the past few games so he could 4 out of 5 for that, but his goal scoring is woeful at the most a half out of 5 for that so out of 10 4.5...therefore a sell
