Given I was talking about today's game, I don't think Poirot would have found it a difficult case to solve

We've also clashed on many occasions in the past btw...........

<laugh> I actually can't argue with that. Although Pardew would not have done THAT much better given the run of fixtures we had once he left. We had a very similar run at the start of last year which could have been disastrous but for the crap below us last season. The club deserves relegation and rightly so however the fans (and I am being biased here) don't. I have had enough of watching inept football and then crying (not literally) into my beer afterwards.

That being said, I have noticed that Everton fans have never been particularly keen on Newcastle for quite some time.

    Fair enough mate <ok>

We fell out with the Toon after the smug **** Pardews comment a few years back, the season you came to our place after you finished 5th, he came out with a comment along the lines of " we're operating at a different level to Everton now" pre your visit to Goodison. We enjoyed ramming that comment sideways up his arse on numerous occasions since <laugh>

The daft ponce was right. We were and still are operating at a different level. A far, far lower one!! I completely forgot he said that however it is a good example of why the fans didn't like him and wanted him gone. An odious cretin with limited managerial ability.

He loves himself like no other man I've ever seen <laugh>

He was never a good fit for you lads imo. As an outside he did Ok though given the bloke he was working for and the fact that he was selling his best players from under his feet. It's Ashley you need to get out as you deserve better than that slimey fat ****.

Robbie savage is a prick! "If it hits his knee it goes wide if it doesn't hit his hand!". How the **** do you know? The hand was accidental and, to me, didn't look like it changed the direction of the ball at all! I wonder if you'd expect a penalty against a defender for that? Arsehole! 4 bits of luck! One where it hits the post... What utter ****e! Why is hitting the post unlucky? The frame of the goal is what you have to get it inside. If Everton don't then that's their problem not luck. The Coleman one was a penalty but, when watching it live yesterday it took 4 replays for any conclusive evidence. Ergo the ref can't give it (although Marriner would have. Marriner probably would've sent Cattermole off for nothing as well though!)

Mate the coverage of the game from BT to the BBC was a disgrace at times.

Yes we had a bit of luck, but what about the discipline in defence, the outstanding performances of the likes of Pants, PVA and Catts.

We got the 3 points and that's all that matters now. It's all in our own hands now.

Spot on mate. Coleman used some lovely skill (and a little luck) and fired the ball wide. PVA did the same and it didn't even make it into the highlights! Dusgraceful

Neville/Savage on snatch of the day "4 bits of luck" Well they say that luck/decisions evens itself out over the season well if that is the case that ticks the Hull at home game off so lots more to come!

To suggest we weren't lucky to win is comical.

They dominated the match but weren't clinical.

We scored two flukey goals. They should have had a penalty.

We've been unlucky in games this season and lost, this time we were lucky and got the win. Who gives a **** what pundits say.

A minute in on BT Jake said we have been lucky this season. What? Hargreaves, Jake and McMahanamanamaamanaman all wanted us to lose. Owned and horrible as he is on that channel was easily the fairest.

As for it being a lucky win, where did Everton actually do enough to win or draw? Sure the stats are in their favour but not goals scored. The defences won the game

Everton didn't deserve to win. Not saying we did but neither did they. Few clear cut chances but I can think of another 2 on top of our goals (PVA and in the first minute when Wickham pulled the ball back too far). They had 2 chances which lukaku was thwarted by being too slow getting the ball under control on the first (and incredible eating if the game from Pantillimon) and being too busy hoping for a penalty on the second. They hit the post from 25 yards. We were denied a blatant free kick on the edge of their area for an obvious foul stopping van aanholt attacking them. Every win needs some luck. We have been waiting 30 games for it though. If it'd happened against us all of the pundits would say 'you make your own luck'. Because it happened for us that phrase hasn't been used once!

Luck isn't having players in the box when shots are being fired in, that's part of the game.

Luck isn't getting good & bad decisions, that's just how referees are.

Luck isn't winning away at Everton, it's quite difficult.

Defoe doesn't handle the ball, he's pulling his hand away as anyone can see .......... besides the game was already won.

As has been said we did more to win the game so deserved the points <ok>

Anybody remember Spurs away? Got beat 2-1 where Spurs scored from a deflection and Defoe had a stone wall penalty denied. We've been unlucky in defeat as well as lucky winners, swings and roundabouts. So much of football is decided by luck but fact is the Defence was superb yesterday as it's been most of the season. If we stay up it's deserved as we've only lost 13 games all season. Easy to remember we've been **** going forward and lost heavily in some games, but fact is, despite having 2 aged cb and 2 who are a bit dodgy they've been fantastic. We owe a lot to our defence and keepers, Seb and Catts this year for making us the joint 7th toughest team to beat in the league this season.

Not forgetting the West Ham goal which deflected off a divot! I've never seen a shot deflect so heavily off a divot! But, as I say, when were unlucky "you make your own luck", when we're lucky it's just us being lucky!

I don't buy all that rubbish about making your own luck, if that was possible it wouldn't be luck by definition. Luck can't be manipulated, it's an action out of our control. ****ing commentators and pundits eh? Most of them don't have the mental capacity to do the job they're doing.

To paraphrase what Mourinho said after they'd been under the cosh but beat Barcelona 1-0, "Yes, they had 70% possession of the ball, but we had 100% of the goals"
