He always manages to pull a result out against us. I'm convinced he could field a team with no players and still manage to nick a 1-1 draw against us. Shame he only raises his teams game against Liverpool, not Man Utd. Who does he think he is, Leeds United??
I believe he has loaned out his excuse "bad start cos us the title" to wenger now that United are having a bad finish too, to accompany the bad middle part of the season
other than the fact he beat Utd recenty? I'll tell you why.. he loves us. I'll tell you why... crouch scores, we win 2-0 and fans sing bye bye mourinho... and wave him off.. He'll send players out to break legs tomorrow mark my words
Steve Bruce's managerial record against Man Utd - 17 losses, 4 draws, 0 wins. He's never beaten them.
The PSV Sporting Director has come out and said that Ian Ayre did have negotiations about buying Depay and Liverpool were the third club (along with MUFC and PSG) interested in him. My question is what do you think is the most likely scenario (as we'll never find out for sure): (A) was Brendan telling porkies and he was fully aware that Liverpool were in for Depay (B) they approached PSG without Brendan's knowledge? I must say (A) is more likely and I have no problem with him covering up, it's good comic relief when Brendan does his PR bit to the media but it makes sense not to admit it if you've tried to buy a player and he's ended up elsewhere. (B) would be more of a concern I guess as they might be going behind his back, particularly if his position is not that secure in the summer, but the popular opinion seems to be he'll get another year at least so I don't see this as a very likely scenario... But what do I know? What do you guys think?
Brendan is covering up for the fact that Depay told him to **** off. When he signs Jermaine Pennant as Sterling's replacement he will insist that he was their number 1 target as he's a brulliant player and a brulliant human being.
If we wanted to replace Sterling with crap we could just sign Di Maria from you lot, as bad as Sterling's been, he's been better than your £59m £250k a week man
I would think the first. It's a general rule that you just can't trust what Brendan says at the press conferences. And most of the time it doesn't bother me; if you know not to attach any weight to it, then he can say pretty much what he likes. It's what he says in private that matters most. Although the second option can't be ruled out either.
(C) Ayre investigated the option and when fees like the £30m Man Utd paid were discussed we walked away. Rodgers doesn't consider it worthwhile or classy to say in the press things like he's overpriced and has a poor attitude so he used his time to praise the players he already has instead.
