Depends on the individual players attitudes and who's interested, whether Bruce stays or goes will also be a major factor.

True, we could quite easily see 10+ players leaving, we could quite as easily only see one or two leave.

My concern would be that if we retained the majority of the squad, how many are realistically going to have the fight for a promotion push?

It'll be the managers job to look into the whites of their eyes and decide who's up for the fight and who's not.

It's a ****ing tough division and you'll be seen as a top scalp, you'll have to scrap every week to make it back at the first attempt.

When were told our finances are in good shape, do we mean we'll have the money required to stage a strong challenge for promotion, or are they just saying we won't be in the **** and facing administration? I have a feeling it will be the latter.

Like the manager has been doing that all season long, NOT.

We have some scrappers who will probably leave, which will leave us with the non trying stars.

We seem to have done far too much of that this season, the cliches are getting well worn now. If it has to be second tier football next season then so be it but I hold Bruce responsible for it with his, at times, crazy selection policy of playing square pegs in round holes, along with selecting players for certain games that are clearly not fit for purpose, eg. Huddlestone yesterday, many were saying that Burnley would apply too much pressure on him and so they did, each time the ball came to him it looked like a hot potato, he couldn't get rid quick enough, and it didn't seem to matter in which direction or to whatever player.

For me, along with others, Jela should have started the game yesterday, by doing so it would have applied more pressure to the Burnley defence and midfield thereby extinguishing any potential momentum that they may have built up against the less industrious Aluko and/or N'Doye. There have been other obvious mistakes made but to be honest I'm too pissed off to list them at the moment, it seems that we've been playing 'scared football' for most of this season, which, unless we're very fortunate in the last two games, will have brought dire consequences. 3-5-2 is not, and never has been, an all encompassing formation, so why does Steve Bruce seem to think that it is? It's simply made us easy to play against and then, like yesterday, when the ****ing panic sets in and we go to 4-4-2, we don't have the neccesary personnel on the pitch!!!

As opposed to moving to a championship club, grafting to get them to the prem and then sitting on the bench a lot?

Not really sure what your point is - surely when we went up a lot of these players thought "amazing, I get to play in the Premier League" when in reality many of them haven't and most would be very disappointed with the amount of game time they have got so what's the incentive for them to get us up again? Just the money?

If that's with us or another club is irrelevant - surely there must be an element of knowing you'll get more minutes on the pitch?

Potential day one line-up if we do go down?

    McGregor
    Rosey Dawson Macca Brady
    Snodgrass Meyler Hudd Quinn
    Aluko A N Other

Of course I'm guessing who moves on (Chester, Elmo, Robertson, Livermore, Ince, potentially three strikers). Chances are we'd still have one of Jelavic, N'Doye or Hernandez at the club. And we'd presumably have about three new faces.

Of course, some of the transfer activity will take place after day one of the season.

    More like

    McGregor
    Elmo McShane Dawson Maguire Brady
    Meyler Bruce Huddlestone Quinn

    Aluko

Can't be too adventurous against these championship sides, just look at the dangerous attackig quality they have throughout.

I'd love to see some loyalty from Snodgrass but having spoken to him recently and asking if he'd stick around if we got relegated - I wouldn't count on it.

At least Ince seems decent in the Championship.

God, I forgot Maguire! He'd be a very likely regular starter if we go down.

Tobes you're just going off tge assumption that when a team goes down they lose all their players, but if you look at our squad on a player by player basis I can't imagine that at all. Diame is injured, nobody will buy him. Dawson is getting on and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to want to move so soon, especially with the fact his family is from here. Chester/Robertson I expect offers for so it just depends how much we hold out for. Jela, N'Doye and probably Hernandez will generate interest but look at the value of Championship strikers in Deeney/Rhodes etc. why should we sell ours for cheap? Brady and Elmo might get offers. If Hudd and Livermore get offers despite how **** they've been then I can't say I'll be gutted to see them go, same with Davies. We have a very good Championsip base in Meyler/Quinn etc. so when you add to that our players like Diame/Snodgrass we should be a class above. Thinking about it I'm quite looking forward to the Championship.

It's ****ing depressing seeing all these lineups with Aluko up front. Surely we can't carry on with that much longer?

Ah right, it's just he goes to a certain snooker hall with Robertson and McGregor.

As I've already said, lots of people seem to be forgetting just how good Aluko was in the championship.

My point is that, if they are championship-quality players, they are likely to fall foul of the same outcome at a different club. Probably would come down to wages and how settled their lives are in East Yorkshire.
