A 3 nil victory away at Spurs with a Huddlestone masterclass pulling the strings and Aluko getting his first hat trick for the club. Who'd have thought it?
When did a player last get a hat-trick for us? Stuart Elliot, 10 seasons ago by my reckoning. Or did Deano grab one in 07/08?
There's a chance Spurs won't be busting a gut to get in the Europa League. Got some booze from the supermarket after the game so suffering from CBA with regards to finding out how the FA Cup final affects Europa League placings.
Pochettino didn't sound too keen on the Europa League when interviewed about it last month. Anyway, I've looked it up. Spurs will qualify for the Europa League again if they finish in the top 7 unless they finish 7th and Villa beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final. 8th placed Swansea getting a surprise win at Arsenal on Monday night might slightly increase Spurs lack of interest when they play us but looking at the league table Spurs seem to be stuck in no mans land regardless of what Swansea do on Monday, especially if they really aren't bothered about the Europa League. Not a bad time at all to play them if we can get our act together.
Except on today's performance, we will need Spurs to actually kick the ball in their own net to give us a helping hand.
That's true, I'd forgotten about his Maradona moment. At least Defoe's, if it did actually hit his hand, looked unintentional.
You've just had 4 massive slices of luck coupled with us being slightly ****ter than your lot. But don't let cold hard facts get in the way
