I already did "Much more succesful club during the last 2 decades, consistently challenge for major honours, more ambitious, can pay bigger wages, and will be playing Champions league football this season " Solely due to Abramovich and his ability to play Fantasy Football. No one can seriously argue you'd be where you are now without him
I see only one reason why not, being left with an unhappy player come the first of September who may not perform.
I keep reminding myself how brilliant Berbatov was for us (before the season of the sulk) and how he patently does not fit into a team like ManUre. While different types of players, it would appear that Modric's and Berba's loyalty and temperment are pretty similar. If he goes, here's hoping. While we're at it, if this is all about Champions League football, as stated by player and agent, why not move abroad?
And what do all of those clubs have in common? Massive wage bills. Please don't delude yourself into thinking that it's about anything else.
LOL!!! Err...pal I think that's normally reserved for loan deals, you don't pay X Million and then agree to not hurting the club you chucked the money at.
Quick question, were you at the Bridge when there was 7,000 odd for a top flight league game in Feb 1992 vs Southampton? You were 7th at the time. Just curious.
in zola we trust then u miss my point spammer, cause if we say that then will cheslski, or anyone else will f****ck off
They had an attendance of 8,293 for a Premier League game, too. By sheer coincidence, it was just before Harding invested in the club and they started to vastly overspend.
There are sometimes other considerations - such as the players family. Look how much trouble Tevez's wife caused by pissing off back home. Modric seemed to want to stay in London, hence the desire to move to The Chavs. Whether he, and/or his family will want to move somewhere else, remains to be seen.
I hope you're right. That will very much depend if The Chavs are still interested in January. And, how Modric conducts himself in the interim.
How Modric reacts is perhaps the key point to come out of this window. Levy has gambled big-time. If Modric doesn't deliver and our season splutters into a midtable position well short of the the top 4 by January, Levy will probably face some awkward questions.
