Tricky one. It looked to me like he actually tried to pull out of a tackle but had to put his foot down at some point and ended up making it worse. Should have been a foul. Yellow would have been okay. Red maybe a little harsh.
Last time we came back from 2-0 down was against MK Dons in the 11' season I believe. Two goals by Forte and a goal by Barnard. If we can pull one back in the first 10 minutes we may still sneak a draw (or a win for those who are more optimistic).
Last time we were playing MK Dons - I don't think this team has got a comeback from 2-0 down gene in them really. Saints rarely come back from 1-0 down this season if we're honest. I'm afraid this is game over and move on to next week's 3-2 home defeat to Tim Sherwood.
I know that Ron rates him, but I can't for the life of me see what Elia adds to the team apart from the occasional pretty trick that usually leads to nothing.
I don't understand what has happened to the team recently. I can accept losses, but not a string of them. We are missing Schneiderlin no doubt and other teams are also dropping points as well. Such a shame that we couldn't take advantage of that. I think I'll get out my flip flops and declare the season over. As said, we are not a team to come back from 2-0 down.
Davis is having an absolute nightmare. Gazzaniga hasn't been good. But Bertrand, Mane, Wanyama and Pelle are playing alright. Clyne okay. Reed's been okay. Elia doing what Elia does which is sort of being blah neither good nor bad. The performance as an overall team maybe hasn't been quite as bad as it looks. Maybe. Possibly?
