Not in my name: Protest chanting Protest banners Booing I go to the KC to watch Hull City play football and to support the team. The distraction and off pitch politics need to be put aside and the focus has to be on the support. The 1904 chant does not get booed, its the Allam Out and We Say No chants. I know that what I say in this post will be considered as some form of pro owner or name change support, but it isn't anything of the sort. Its a simple statement, the manager and players have said that the protest affects them, during the match and I believe that it does. The target does not give a flying **** about it, so what is the point? When the anti Allam chants and the booing starts, I will remain silent and watch the game, just like the majority, have since this all began. My support is not because I am desperate to watch PL football, it is not based on who the owner is or what he does or does not do. it is based purely on my support for Hull City. I want to watch us win today, I want to watch the team succeed and I want only to support them in the stadium.I support Hull city and am proud to do so, I will support Hull City no matter what league they play in. So protest or boo, whatever you like, but do not think that either is done in my name.
I carnt believe anyone believes it effects them on the pitch, it didn't effect them at palace or Liverpool and it didn't contribute to losing against arsenal they were just better!! If we lose today it'll probably because we were ****e or bruce put players in wrong positions not because of the chanting. If you don't want to join in then don't it's simple and those that want to will
I hope the crowd really get behind the team today it could really make the difference. ive got to say though I think the north stand have been great and really got behind the lads, lets all be as one for me sing what you like just make some noise because for me as a player when you have the full backing of the crowd it must surely push you that little bit harder. full house get there a little bit earlier and roar the lads to victory
A spot on thread, the gist of which I am sure is in accordance with the views of most of the true supporters of our team.
I've had a season pass for about 15 years but been going since 1988/89. I buy a shirt and merchandise every season, I don't agree with the name change and agree with the protests. So am I not a true supporter of our team??
I'm pretty sure we all go to watch Hull City play football and to support the team. Please supply a link, or something to support your statement, that the players and Steve Bruce have said the protests affect them. If they have I must have missed it.
I'll be chanting Allam Out, and I'll also be giving more vocal support to the team than most of the other attendees in the ground, especially those who might boo. Whether softies like it or not, it's come to this, and feelings are strong. I am less than concerned that some wishy washy, no opinion, jumped up supporters club member is worried that it impinges on his personal image. Maybe he can come up with a chant this IS in his name, people would respect that far more than another gutless whinge in a series of gutless whinges on this forum.
I'm pretty sure Steve Bruce said in a post match interview that the players do notice and do talk about it in the changing rooms. NB this is just me pointing out a comment to which the OP may be referring. I am not making any pro or anti name change comment and therefore would not like to be called a nonce, plastic, twat, etc...
This is the key thing isn't it. It's downright ****ing rude for all the silent people around the ground to tell the few who vocally support the team that they're doing it wrong. If you don't agree with the songs that the die-hards in the north are singing, start your own ffs. As I said yesterday, this is all Allam's choice. He decided it wasn't worth waiting until the summer and we needed to go through this process again, on top of that he decided to do even more controversial things, so here we are. Let me guess, it's Allam's right to bring it all up again at this time of the season but it's wrong for the fans to respond?
