24 or something votes won it i think. we have always had a healthy tory vote anyway so it was only a matter of time before they would win the seat....It follows the trend of how poor labour was in this election but it was still a surprise....
That is what you, PGF and others would have liked to see happen but; a) that would have left our country with no government and b) what is the point of a political party if it refuses the chance to govern (by govern I don't mean sit on the front bench and get chauffered around, how childish to suppose that their decisions were based on such triviality, I mean implementing good policy dreamed up by the likes of you or me...as opposed to London/Intellectual/corporate elites)
Yeah, it was such a cruel and unpopular government that the Tories won an unlikely majority and the Labour party was routed.
Gower currently comprises the electoral wards of Gower, Oystermouth, Newton, Mawr, Pennard, Fairwood, Kingsbridge, Lower Loughor, Upper Loughor, Penyrheol, Bishopston,Gorseinon, Pontarddulais, Clydach, Penclawdd, Gowerton, Penllergaer, Llangyfelach and West Cross.
. .................and you're full of patronising s.hit. You were so astute that you thought everyone should forget what Clegg and the Lib Dems had done in the last Parliament and move on. Politics doesn't work like that and the electorate showed their total contempt of the Lib Dems as a party. Keep banging the drum though because it keeps us entertained. Two taxis for the Lib Dems please

Isn't it time to move this thread off the stickies? We're done now, what has occurred is the following tories - won Labour - lost Liberals - are whores UKIP - racists Green Party - Disappointed Plaid - didn't progress SNP - hugely gained The public - has got cuts, cuts , cuts for the next 5 years the end
If the Gower constituency was the Gower everybody knows then it would be one of the safest Conservative seats in the UK.
Of course it would be, as the most affluent and retired who hugely benefit from a Tory government live there. The rest of the wards in there are more of your working class areas.
