The thing is that Labour back doored part privatised the NHS bit by bit under Bliar, they've tried to weaponise the NHS on several occasions but people have seen though it. They were happy to keep on all the contract cleaning, security & maintenance companies that they inherited once they took power.

Leedsrevo, respectfully, don't get me wrong, I was a Tory back then, still am to a certain degree. I wasn't making out Thatcher was the be all and end all of Prime Ministers. Scargill was labelled a communist, he not only wanted to bring down Thatchers government, but any government that got in, it just so happens Thatcher was the one who stood up to him. When I said "did scargill care about the families" and "families suffered" I was referring to the lack of coal for heat, it also affected the other industries and businesses that families relied on, I'm willing to bet that Scargill and his gang didn't suffer while the miners families around him did. I understood that strikes were seen as inevitable to get pay rises etc after talks broke down, but the length of time Scargill was prepared to keep the strikers out was madness imo, he didn't want to relent, he was a power hunter. One of the best things to happen to the country, imo, was when Scargill was sent into oblivion. Although I'm not that old, the reason I become a Tory was Winston Churchill.
Respectfully Leedsrevo, I was in Army at the time of the Falklands war. The people of the Falklands said they are British and want to stay part of Britain, this obviously came out after Argentina were claiming the Falklands belong to Argentina. As I was told, and understood it back then, Argentina was in disarray with poverty, high prices and a failing currency. The then President, probably advised by his advisors, decided to attack the Falklands to reclaim it, using it as a distraction to try and turn the people's attentions away from the poor situation happening within Argentine. As in all wars, it's sad that people do get killed, but if the Government had left the Falklanders to their own fate the papers would've unleashed hell.
