The Three Year Plain - explained

Just heard from an "inside source" via a voice mail hack of a call that Pulis made from the training camp in Austria. The recipient is believed so be somebody called 'Arry' based in London.
The conversation sounds a garbled mixture of cockney and welsh glottal tones, not that our Tone is a glottal stop, mind you he could be.

Anyway, the old three year plan was just a smokescreen for the new three year plan, which basically entails that Pulis keeps his job for the next three years by promising to "move this club forwards" In addition, it is his mission to reduce the wage bill even further by only signing players on a pay by play basis.

Woodgate for example, wage bill for the next season - zero

He is also trying for Owen Hargreaves but faces opposition from Hanley Town Old Boys Club, Pulis hopes that the deal clincher will be a free bus pass and a wheelchair.

Other rumours gleaned from this conversation included, signing Michael Owen, apparently he knows how to pick a four legged winner.

A resurrected bid for Dean Ashton, who is and I quote "a smashing kid"

I don't wish to get you guys too excited, as the best bit is yet to come, so I will leave you with that lot and be back tomorrow..

I actually think we've done rather well in the last three years. Staying up, Europe, an FA Cup Final which even the apparently flawless Tony Waddington didn't manage. *Dons tin hat*

Jose - not trying to compare, er do you really believe that I was being serious, oh hang on we HAVE signed Woodgate - you must be ecstatic.

You cannot make this up, don't worry Jose, you and the other disciples will find some feeble excuse for this LATEST waste of time and energy.

Not one of your gang CAN answer the questions:

The reason no creative players will come to Stoke is Pulis?

With a HUGE non top 6 transfer budget could another non defensive Manager have done better?

Current squad OK for Europe - oops sorry Woodgate played a couple of times for Real - first game, own goal and got sent off - smashing!

C'mon you disciples get real for christ's sake, oh and since you ask, YES, see above not only could we have done better we SHOULD have done better!

I am quite pleased with Woodgate actually. Won't cost us anyhting if he's injured, but IF fit he's one of the best in the League (oh sorry, he had one bad game for Real Madrid about 6 years ago so he must be ****).

I don't know how you can accuse our defense of Pulis as being "feeble" after all we've achived over the last 5 years, but I guess some people can't see the wood for the trees ey? :emoticon-0105-wink:

Why won't creative players come to Stoke? You seem to be forgetting Ehterington, Pennant, Gudjohnsen and Tuncay all CAME here, as did the likes of Lee Hendrie and Patrik Berger when we were in the Championship. True, only some of them have worked out and could have been handled a lot better, but overall I think Pulis has done a good job in the transfer market.

What is it that we're actually supposed to have done wrong Nicky? Stuck up for a guy who's got us into our first ever FA Cup final and into Europe for the first time in over 30 years? And WE'RE the ones with our heads buried in the sand?

NO OFFENCE but, this isn't doing STOKE CITY any good whatsoever mate. READ Sgt's thread the leading post..
Woodgate F F Sake, he's NO FIT yet?

What's the point? Okay he's costing us nothing. So, WHEN are we going too progress cos going on those last few games
I'm worried sick about this coming season. Even Ric's is nowhere near fitness.

Just trying to put a balanced view on this.

Potts how can you have a balanced view with the Pulis Disciples still quoting look where we were 4 years ago, oh and our first FA cup final ever, jeesuz, last year was a doddle compared to the season before, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea.

Sick to bloody death of the lot of them

    Nick,
Either me or Tony Pulis are/is unbalanced then! HOW are we moving forward? Welsh Morr...
Cos Woodgate as good as he WAS is in both Mr Ps words and Mr Coate's words, I've read them.

A MASSIVE GAMBLE. We are Stoke, we are bigger than that. Stayed up yep, F.A. Cup Final where, we didn't turn up.

I did turn up and chuffed as I was we made it, we didn't do ourselves justice did we?

Now, we are playing in Europe on the 28th July and? WHO exactly HAVE we signed apart from Woodgate...

Well I for one ain't happy with Pulis right now.

And, don't tell us we're whinging cos I've had a season ticket since 1961.

If I'm NOT happy like you we have a bloody right too be going nut's right now.
Millions received from yep, THREE years in the Premier League, Mr Ps THREE YEAR PLAN?

    Nice way of moving forward...
Just sign a 30 odd year old EX England C half who's basically said himself. Stoke WILL help me get fit.

A shambles of a signing but, who am I too complain <doh>

You Pulis haters really are pathetic, you are looking for any reason to moan. I'm not looking in the past (I wouldn't really count last season as the past) we got to an FA Cup Final, we won 5-0 at Wembley, we are in Europe and we are (For three consecutive seasons) a mid-table Premier League team.

What the hell is your problem? We have done better EVERY season under TP, so please feel free to moan about nothing.

FFS! Port Vale could ave made the semi n that draw! We did what was expected and any manager would have got the same results, maybe even better showing in the final!

I understand the balanced view on TP, but, it is about time that we starting adding positive quality rather than average quantity with th view that there mystery be a good one in there somewhere. Walters proved a lot of people wrong but he isn't good enough to performe week in week out KJ, well he is what he is! Without slagging TP to the death he has to sign 2 big players this year otherwise it will be same old same old! He has achieved the bare minimum, but unless he signs big we will be standing still when the rest of the league moves on, I just hope they don't move on another 6 or 7 points!

Oh and Jose, I remember you and others saying on 606 we would finish in a higher league position last season and that would prove progression in black and White - that didn't happen! We lost more games last year than we did in the 1st season and we only one 1 more - that in your wildest of dreams ain't progression!

DO YOU actually go and watch every bloody game, home and away?
I'm MOANING because we haven't bloody signed anyone of note.
Pulis did a great job, for two season's. West Ham were carp last season, so were Brum.
IF you both think we've made improvement since the season before last, you are kidding knowone,
only your blind faith. Pulis did very well, Now, do you HONESTLY think the present squad is
good enough? I don't think we can keep on scraping results away from home we are woeful.
Tell me you are happy going too away games and all we do is, try not too lose. You know it,
I've seen it, even Pulis will tell you. We hold what we have, a point before kick off.

In short, NO plan B away from home.
    O
    And CORRECTION...

Etherington and Pennant are WINGER'S. NOT midfielder's.
