Despite the prospect of CL and larger wages, we shouldn't underestimate the importance of having a 'name' manager to attract players.

Big wages and big agent fees have a short term lure too

But most of all if you look at salah it am was all about the money and easy route to a medal. He flopped spectacularly and is now in limbo at Fiorentina and in danger of being used as make weight by Chelsea and ending up never seeing another cl game

Sure if he joined us he might not have either but he'd be on more money long term in a bigger league at a bigger side than he will end up at

Agents have a lot of say and a lit of the time they do the wrong thing for clients

Sterling is prime example. I think Rodgers is too weak to drop him but the kid doesn't look anything like good enough now for top 4 to lash money at so..... his agent could have unsettled him got him no pay rise and no route to top 4
