Well, there is obviously some confusion about what the rules of the site are. I don't know where the rule about no politics came from but I will look into it.

All I know is that compared to the disaster awaiting the country over the next 5 years, this debate is pretty irrelevant!

    Farage has resigned already.

Chilco, unfortunately Tessa Munt has lost Wells to the Tories.

My reply was to the comment that Thatcher was the best PM ever as an example of the many things she did wrong, I can understand if you were one of the luck few that did alright when she was in power...
But for the millions who didn't will hate her always.
Look back at all the party's that were held when she died will give an indication what people really thought of her.

Clegg pretending that the Liberal Democrats have done so much for this country in the last 5 years.

    He has resigned officially btw.

I just saw that. In many ways, I am more disappointed about Tessa losing than about anything else in this election. She was an excellent local MP who knew most of her constituents personally by name, and she couldn't have worked harder for them, or campaigned harder. She lost because of Nick Clegg selling his soul to the devil, as most of the other good Lib Dem MP's have.

Absolutely right. I feel desperately sorry for many MPs, particularly in the South-West, who are local champions, and were very skeptical of the coalition.

I think Tim Farron should and will be the new leader.

Moving on, I've now pushed forward to hoping that the Reds beat the Blues on Saturday instead...

I have spent the last 10-15 years believing that some kind of proportional representation is the correct way for government and most certainly I haven't changed my mind with this result.

Likewise. The 2011 referendum on alternative vote was disappointingly an opportunity missed.

    You're quite welcome, dcg69.

Found a match from 1980 [John Motson commentating] showing that beautiful broad stripe kit with the badge in the centre. A day match so you get a good view. Such stars on the screen too. I'm not mentioning the score..!

Have to say that all the Labour speeches have been fantastic. Very dignified, and very honest.
