I wonder if Allam couldn't get the name change and were to change our kit colour instead more fans would complain.

This has been brought up before and is probably true. You could argue that a name is far more important than a kit but you could also argue that he isn't changing the name to Hull Lobsters, therefore changing kit would be more of a change of identity than switching to Hull Tigers.

it would be a bit difficult if he changed the colours to then proceed with changing the name to Tigers even in the parallel universe inhabited by Mr Allam.

No it wouldn't. It would still be Hull City if the colour changed. It would make the Tigers nickname less relevant but there aren't any blue lions about but that doesn't affect Millwall.

So becoming Hull City "Ladybugs" with black and red dotted kits would bother you less than Hull Tigers?

Well it'd be interesting to see if those booing the anti name changers would mind if he changed the kit colours as much. I know the kit style changes every year, but it didn't go down too well in Cardiff. I guess the underlying question is, what would it take Allam to do for the Allam supporters to change their stance?

No lad, of course a negative atmosphere has never impinged on a teams performance has it.......... <doh>

If it has even the vaguest chance of affecting the team by 0.1% why the **** would you possibly risk that during arguably the biggest game in your history? That chant tomorrow is going to achieve **** all anyway, same as it hasn't for however long you've been using it, as the man's course is set, so why not just park it for 1 ****ing afternoon and put the actual game first?

Well we scored against Liverpool whilst the 19.04 chant was going on and went on to beat them for the first time last season.beat them again this season to a background of protest and fans abusing each other. Never managed all the times we played them in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

It wouldn't particularly bother me if the colours changed, certainly not as much as a change of name. The colours and styles have always changed, this season we are playing in black and orange, but
As I asked earlier on this thread, if the owner thought this would adversely affect the team, why did he proceed? If the manager thought it would adversely affect the team, why didn't he tell him to drop it? If the vice-chairman thought it would adversely affect the team, why did he publicly say that he liked it? If it actually did affect the team, how come we won two recent games we were expected to lose?

Well, there is a myriad of things which may or may not affect (positively or negatively) the team by 0.1% but by adjusting your actions "just in case", you're acting on superstition, rather than evidence. The 19:04 chant is measured, appropriate and effective in getting a message across that we remain loyal to the team called Hull City AFC. In my experience, the individuals joining in at 19:04 are significant contributors to a positive, supportive atmosphere throughout the game and are unlikely to indulge in moaning, barracking or early departure from the ground which (I believe) are far more likely to undermine the players we all support.

Irrespective, you've ignored the simple point made.

It's your most important game of the season, it's not televised, just concentrate on the game and getting behind the side and leave the rest at the turnstiles for 1 week. Hardly a sacrifice and it's not going to alter your campaign 1 jot.
