I`m moving to live in Turkey in August. Thank God for that. But I am worried about my elderly parents if these polls are correct. How can people be so selfish and bigoted. Fcuking Ukip getting loads of votes!! They are the BNP Lite party. Ashamed to be English! Anyone that voted UKIP, well done, you have just Fcked yourselves big time. Do not start crying when you all start to lose your benefits. In 2 years time you will be thinking, 'what the fcuk have i done' Reap what you sowed'.

...and that is why I am bottom of the prediction league.

Terrible news for our region. Five more years of neglect while the south gets richer. The Scots have the right idea. Wish we could get out too.

Its not the south getting richer...its a handful of sociopaths in the South continuing to get hugely, mind bogglingly, immensely richer, as they have been in the last 5 years ..The UK as a civilised country has been on its knees for a while, but this will be the final nail in the coffin. The final drive to become a cheap tat venal version of the USA, where everything has a price and nothing has any value .. Northhumbria National Party is my suggestion ..Hook up with the SNP and drive south

They would genuinely get my vote. The UK is finished in its current form after the tories spent last year telling the Scots they should stay and play an active part in running the UK and then this year telling everyone that it would be a disaster if the Scots got to play an active part in running the UK. The SNP were heading for 45-48 seats until that argument was used. It didn't go unnoticed and I honestly don't think there is a way back from it.

So if anyone does set up a Northumbrian Party that reflects local attitudes to social justice they would get my vote.

There will always be an element of it being the South getting richer while people in Westminster think investing in the North means investing in Manchester - having no clue there is another 230 miles of England to go till Berwick which is more than the distance from London to York!

Its nearer 40 years since the north-west, Midlands and London were fully integrated into the Motorway network. The two main routes into Tyneside, the 7th biggest conurbation in the UK, are both single carriageway for huge sections. It makes me despair.

Totally agree ..but there is more to it than just a north/South divide which is just how those feral (red and blue) Tory Sociopaths want it ..keep us fighting amongst ourselves and pointing fingers at everywhere but them, while they pilfer, loot, rape and destroy everything of value that WE (and our forebears) have built and stood for.

The Tories are past masters at divide and conquer ...in fact, historically, its pretty much their only method, Building something for the future? bollocks to that. 14 yr olds in workhouses and using food-banks is the mark of a truly developed and civilised nation in their eyes..as long as their daddies money they inherited isn't touched, and the peons are all on zero hour bonded servitude contracts..with a general race to the bottom for everyone else but them. All in it together ..don't forget.

Again, totally agree, At least the SNP had some the guts to say..this is wrong and this is what we will do about it, would have voted for them like a shot given the chance.. To be fair..the difference twixt the blue and red tories is marginal at best atm.. and the Red Tory lite party has paid the price..actually, we are paying, and will pay through the nose, the price for them not having any convictions beyond wanting to be elected to the Westminster pig trough and trying to emulate the Blue Tories.

The sooner the regions (and Wales, I won't include Norn Iron in this as they are ..'special') stand up to the divisive carpet baggers of the main political parties, who represent nothing but themselves the sooner we can start building a country we can be proud of and want to be part of. A federalised UK is not a bad idea at all in my eyes

Agree with your comments about Red Tories. IMO down to one man in particular, David Blair.

In reality there aren't many, if any, real Labour MP's now as opposed to the lightly flavoured, more centralised version called New Labour. Most of the Labour MP's voted in yesterday aren't what I would call Labour. It's more a vote as to whether you want the right wing Conservatives to win or the far right wing Conservatives to win. One of those "lose-lose" situations.

I don't actually see Lab or Con as right or left. They've all moved so central to appeal to as many voters as possible that they are, as intimated , mostly the same. AS an American friend of mine said when looking at our political system , we don't have Republicans at all, just multiple democrat variants. This makes voting policies over personalities even more important in my opinion.

Let's face it they all went to the same schools and and studied politics at school without working / living outside of that environment so how much can any be relied upon to accurately know how it feels to be a working Joe in their constituencies?

Think plenty of people are in for a shock. People are paying £9,000 a year to get a degree, a degree that is no guarantee of getting a job, let alone a decent one. I went to University, took 3 years to get a paid job and was gone within a year, due to being on a fix term contract, yet Apprentices would get jobs there, on lower wages due to their age. Looked at the money I've earned through my working life in the 6 years since graduating and I haven't earned that amount of money. They also charge a high of interest on the loans.

Also heard this morning David Cameron claim that create jobs and help people move onto the property ladder, these are clear lies from my experience. Sick of this government making feeling like a waster going no where when I've had to work hard to get qualifications and then had a battle to get a permanent job which I still haven't managed.
