You're obviously not listening to 5 LIVE - they`re pissing themselves at the demise of Labour and the Liberals.

I think fear has driven this

The fear in England that the SNP were going to rule from the shadows has meant labour were ducked totally and votes fled to tories

    That's it then

Scotland gets absolutely nothing for 5 years

Northern Ireland gets no more money

    Wales is just Wales

    Bother England is completely unrepresented

And London and Henley set slash and burn and mind themselves

Rupert Murdoch has selected every government in this country since 79. I fear the next Labour leader`s first job will be on their knees felating the old fascist.

Who will be the next Labour leader? David Dimbleby might have the answer

A Freudian slip on live television? It's not beyond the realms of possibility

    • David Dimbleby seems to know the next leader of the Labour Party.
Perhaps hitting 'the wall' at 3:30am, David Dimbleby made a Freudian slip when referring to current Labour leader Ed Miliband.
When interviewing David Lammy, Labour candidate for Tottenham, about Ed Miliband's leadership, the BBC presenter asked:
"[Is] David... Ed Miliband standing down within 24 hours?"
Of course it is entirely possible that veteran presenter Dimbleby was simply referring to David Lammy when he started the question, but the speed with which he corrected David to Ed suggests it might have been a Freudian slip.
Listen for yourself in the video above.

David Miliband (R) is embraced by his brother party leader Ed Miliband
If Ed Miliband does fail to become Prime Minister, as is looking increasingly likely, perhaps his brother David Miliband will be high on the shortlist to take over.
Paddy Power have him at just 12/1 to be the next Labour leader.
Obviously, it goes without saying that we now need to refer to David Dimbleby as Ed Dimbleby until the end of time.

Dont worry, you'll never need a food bank. You can sell your phone/computer and buy food.

    Or go lidl/aldi.

The election system is a crock of ****. UKIP get 3.5million votes which equates to at best a couple of seats. SNP get 1.5million votes which equates to over 50 seats!

Ultimately when the dust settles, we can rake through the ashes and try to understand why people acted as they have here.

I think it'll come back to the base fact that Miliband wasn't viewed as electable by the floating voters. We kid ourselves on in this country that we've got a mature electoral system and not a personality contest like the States, '92 proved that was bollocks and it's just been hammered home again.

Reality is Labour could have won every seat in Scotland and they'd still have lost the election. Short term a disastrous result for Labour supporters, medium to long term probably a good thing as it forces Miliband to resign.

    very true.

I think what tobes or swarbs said yesterday about miliband and labours lack of real concrete stuff to hang your hat on hurt.

but if SNP never existed perhaps the lack of fear about them control from the back gorund might have negated it but it doesn't matter

the message is real alternative or go home.
