...fumin Luke!...all settled and ready for it...bloody Manx weather, have to wait till tomorrow now. I know Honda are strong there in the past few years, but Suzuki have had poor luck in recent years....see what I mean about Guy Martin, some berk marshall held out a red flag by mistake so he slowed down all the way to the next flag which was yellow. They may well say that the time involved makes no difference, but it would have affected the rest of his race mentally. A very difficult situation as a rider to continue pushing hard, not knowing what that was about, especially there!
Is it just me or does the Modric story seem to have dragged on forever already! At the moment its like one day cricket ,keep what we have for the 1st 15 overs and then build a score late on . Roll on august
Ferguson is patient when having his media friends tap up players - just look at Carrick and Berbatov, both lasted for over a year
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jun/17/luka-modric-tottenham-chelsea I'm afraid I was proved to be correct regarding Modric.
Thanks mate, I knew I would be right about Modric as I know players only say what the fans want to hear, as soon as a bigger club comes in they go, its the nature of the game, which is why I don't get worked up over Modric leaving as once he is gone this club will move on just like it has with all the other top class players that have left during previous years.
Cracking read this thread, how things change in 5 days...... Spurs fans complaining of tapping up and Modric was a legend at the time of the interview. Priceless!
You have already made your point on the other thread so was their actually any need to revert back to this? I never thought Modric was the berbatov type hissy fit of a player and i was wrong...... so **** what!!! By the way Zola, your a mug!!! f*** off!!! Your still not seeing Modric in a chelsea shirt so i would stop the smugness
It will be funny to see the reaction of gloryhunting Chelsea fans when their top players leave/retire due and Abramovich can't ruin the game anymore thanks to the FFP regulations, and they go back to mid table obscurity
By the way Bigjohnny, Modric might of done a U turn and proved most spurs fans wrong who think he was a different character but the ball is still in Mr levy and spurs court. If we don't want to sell then we don't sell, end of!!
Mate you still don't get it do you, Modric is leaving, player power wins because of the nature of the game and the money factor. Just remember (so you don't make a fool of yourself again) no matter how much you think a player is a decent person or loyal, every footballer has ambition to achieve the best they can, and earn as much as they can so once they feel a club can't match their goals and a bigger club wants to sign them, then they are off and in the end they do all they can to force through the move, maybe you can't accept that, but thats modern day football.
That's a very short-sighted outlook for players to have, especially now with the 25 man squad rule There are too many lazy players happy to sit on the bench at a Barcelona or Man Utd rather than put the effort in at a Tottenham or Valencia
if modric goes then there must be set in stone that he can never never play against us not matter what : pl ,fa cup, carling cup, or in europe etc
@ Bigjohnny, i certainly don't think i made a fool of myself but i was wrong about Modrics character like most spurs fans were..... You going to get a noble prize now for being right? You felt the need on a number of occasions to point it out so clearly you have a bit of an Ego trip. I hope he rots on the subs bench and Levy stands by his comments. If not i hope Levy is currently calling up the top european clubs and trying to sanction a deal for him to **** off abroad. He won't go to chelsea or any english club surely!!
If modric wants to leave (which he does) and hands in a transfer request (which will most likely happen) then he will be sold to the club which makes the biggest offer which will be either chelsea or man utd and Modric will move to either of these two if they make big enough bids. Charmain don't just pick up the phone and call around clubs abroad in a desperate attempt to make sure their wantaway star player moves abroad rather then domestically as not only does it make them look desperate, it also means there is no chance of the player being sold for their true value.
