Disappointing night this for me. Liberals getting a trouncing, which although was expected, is still a shock. Labour haven't done well enough in England or Wales. Obviously Scotland is a right off for Labour, but they didn't even win their number 1 target seat in Warwickshire.
Ed will go unfortunately. I maintain that he fought a positive, correct, and moral campaign, but it hasn't translated well enough to the wider public. Clegg will surely go, and Farage seems to be off too.
Staggering statistics on their results. Consistently losing more that 10% on every seat. If Cable goes, that is an absolute woeful disaster.
Looks like the Tories could even get an overall majority now. Labour not making gains in England, and the LibDems vote in the South West has collapsed.
I'm happier than I thought this morning....so much for all those pre-election polls. Obviously takes a while for people to forget a Labour government....or rather a government led by Tony Blair. I think the Lib-Dems and Labour suffered from the Scottish effect....not just in actual seats, but in instilling fear in the non-Scottish section of the UK. Shudder to think of them having even more power at Westminster than their number of MPs warrant.
