the 2CV?? omg! lol..i remember driving down to Cornwall once, it took 8 hours lol. I blinkin' loved that car though, absolutely loved it!
Err Citroens were never my thing, but that part of the family married into a couple of French ladies, so they all drove Citroens. And boy they kept the garage busy, as they were always in for repair. There were just 4 of us in the 2cv, luckily 2 of us were children! The body roll on that thing was err ...... dangerous I'd say! I remember being in a race to Tintagel (for the day), and we passed a police car at something like 90 mph. My Cavalier SRi was my favourite car C364DMP a really good one - even with 115,000 on the clock when I sold it in 1992! Although the milometre said just 15,000 as it only had 5 digits. Those were the days.
lol yep, they were. i remember being on the motorway in the 2CV and suddenly the brakes went, though only momentarily, very strange that was, but not much fun at 80mph..i couldn't go any faster lol
Each year, very close to where I live, is a round of the European 2CV car race. It is run over a twisting course set out in a specially prepared area with banks of earth to prevent the cars taking off into the spectators. Needless to say they have been modified to include roll bars, stripped down to bare essentials, not a lot to do on that one, and have highly tuned up engines. It is actually a great place to go as you can wander around the pits, well tents actually, and chat to the drivers as they try to put there cars back together. During the day there will be about 20 heats each lasting about 15 minutes. Of course the obligatory bar and refreshments are available.
Just seeen the Masters on my Skybox recorded. Walking in a mooney wonderland... Well done lads now for the finals.
SLB fire in a 2CV, that will be the paper ducting in the engine compartment getting lose and falling against the exhaust.
Bless my wife, she has no interest in footie. Saying that she bought one of my best presents ever at the end of our first sojourn into the Premier League, I was already going away for a 6 month Detachment to Ascension Island in June 2000 and was feeling quite down about being seperated. Little did I know that behind my back she got tickets for the last game of the season at home to Coventry. She said we were going out for the day as an early birthday treat as I would be away for it so she saud to head down the A41. Not knowing where I was heading from Aylesbury off we set, we got to the outskirts of Watford and she said park up in a layby. She got me to close my eyes and then she handed me over my Watford top and 2 tickets for the game! Talk about made up I did not what to do first, kiss her or drive into town As we were only boy/girlfriend at the time, she had gone into my room in the Sgts Mess and taken my Watford top without my knowledge and to cap it off we thrashed poor Coventry Just got to love her!
How lovely! Gotta say, that is something Mr H would never do! You've got a good'un there Al . And Coventry away is always good...I've booked my holiday around it this season lol
