anyone on here watch wheeler dealers on discovery? they've blown it big time by heading to the states. The show's lost it now IMO.
question; will you watch top gear with Philip Glenister , Jodie Kidd and Guy Martin I think not.. I'd go so far as to say i'd rather watch 5th gear which is extremely dull in parts and geeky in others.
oh and i'll admit when hammond and may did the stuff you had to go.. hey where's tiff. this aint right but clarkson carried it on. It was his show after all. May is the oddest of all being a success at it but he work as a contrast to the other too. frankly guy martin is only in here to be a oh he can mechanic.. oh he;s dones some stupid stuff... but FFS its just subbing in a face to carry on the stuff that only worked cos three gobshites were acting the mick.
I'll give it a chance. Will be a totally different dynamic but I can see it working. Will attract a different audience demographic, probably a bit younger, and more women. Glenister will be the main host as he has good presence, Martin will be off doing speed challenges and crazy **** and Jodie Kidd is either eye-candy for the gents or something for women to relate to.
Not necessarily. The guy can chuck a bike around pretty quickly and loves his adrenaline rushes. I agree on the chemistry and banter / piss taking element. That has gone with the other three
I think whatever is served up deserves a chance but I can't see it matching up to what we've become used to. I'm waiting in anticipation to see what Jeremy, Richard and James in partnership with Netflix serve up
Jeremy, Richard and James worked because they all complimented each other in a contrasting fashion. They each had their own areas of expertise or preference but they also got on and often found neutral ground.

Have you seen 5th gear with tiff and chanderpaul.. cringeworthy interaction. even tiff and plato was not great. then they have butler henderson who seems to have gone form her days on old top gear as sassy and hot hatch loving to a scared child as tiff just shakes her round in a car like she's not got any opinion but to be there to scream. Top gear changed from car show to middle aged man show where 3 gobshites just did stupid things together and played jokes on each other. The cars were just an excuse mostly. why did top gear christmas specials work... ****e cars and 3 guys doing stuff not super cars in dubai. guy martin has done some weak assed shows and some good shows... do we need him weekly giving us the low down on super cars? do we need him pretending with jodie kidd that they are clarkson and may? who will play the village idiot per hammond? if we call it new new top gear the show clearly won't have a named driver again so will the stig be used? I presume bbc won that right now. Will we see kidd and martin trolling around autrialian outback or some such as a top gear challenge? oh and before it starts for the record jodie kidd is a minger. he's a lanky flat chested spotty streak of piss who fancies herself.
better not be netflix. I think personally the issue is they have gotten old. and they cannot do enough shows in a year so do these grander shows and specials I can't see them getting by on a very narrow market that is netflix. they need mass market here in uk to succeed.
There were rumours of them going to Sky but the last I heard was Netflix. If the highlighted bit is true then Netflix would work as they'd be able to get it all recorded in a time scale that suits them prior to full release.
yes Clarkson was a moron who thought he knew everything Hammon was a village idiot and may... well he was a mix of toff, public school boy and austin healey owner. hammon's work on top gear could not be more in contrast with his work on other shows he's done.

Clarkson mentioned netflix when he was asked baout having lunch with kidd recently. Netflix might work par se but it doesn't work for the audience they need which is here. supposed 2.8million subscribers in UK to netflix though. theres supposedly 10 million on sky. thers 60million available to bbc and they made thier moeny selling the show globally. If its a new show that has to make its money here its got to have mass appeal. what has netflix done as uk only shows so far? Its big stuff has been us based.

Well, that would still be ripping off the Top Gear format which belongs to the BBC. They'll have to come up with a new concept or at least with enough changes to be able to claim its a new concept.

Does 5th gear rip of old top gear.. ypu.. top gear format was invented in what it ende duup by clarkson and friends. they did sell it to bbc... BUT say for exmaple you do a challenge and get last in a white lab coat to walk in.. is that not ripped off from skys brainiac anyway? if you have a stig again.. yeah probably a rip off... i think the stig originally was a means of either hiring a guy in but not having another tiff needel or having mutliple drivers as schedules dictated. It became a running joke you could insert any joke like it in there... some say... blah blah. Is idiot abroad not similar in some aspects... in the end the three branched so far off car show that if they did do exaclty the same again i don't thin ktheres a top gear DNA thats not similar to lots of other shows.
2at least with enough changes to be able to claim its a new concept" in my view simply having a new title and no stig would be more than enough.
