I'm not shocked at all, I recall my pay being docked a fiver when Charles and Di got hitched so I'm used to this sort of forelock tugging sycophancy, that's why it sickens me. The people sending gifts are indeed spastics, they could have easily donated any money spent on a wasted gifts to Nepal, that's why I find it nauseating but not shocking.
The Royal family are a ****ing joke. Why anyone gets all worked up over them, either by rimming their ring or getting beeled-up like Dev, I'll never know.
I despair at people who don't mind them, as if they are of no consequence. These ****ing scam artists have been taking our money for no good reason since year dot. They have a massive PR department which we are paying for, I loathe them with a vengeance.
Every manjack in the Navy, RAF and Army had their wages docked to pay for a wedding gift. The Army (including me) bought these parasites an antique writing desk. ****s never bought me anything when I got hitched.

LONDON -- Paul Burrell, trusted butler of Princess Diana for many years, was charged Thursday with the theft of hundreds of royal family items, including Versace handbags, snapshots and cards to Prince William from "Mummy." Burrell, who has said the items were given to him by his employer, denied all the charges. He was accused of stealing 342 items from Diana, Prince Charles and their son Prince William on or before June 30, 1998, at Kensington Palace. The items also included compact discs, clothes, a bullwhip and an autographed picture of "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff. The 43-year-old Burrell, Diana's "rock" and confidant, was charged with three counts of theft -- one each for items belonging to Charles, to Diana and to William -- and was ordered to appear in court today. Stony-faced and silent, Burrell left West End Central police station and was bundled into a taxi by police officers. His attorney, Andrew Shaw, read a short statement from the steps of the station. "Paul Burrell denies absolutely the charges that have been preferred against him," Shaw said. "He's rightly perceived to be a man of integrity and trusted by the royal family. He says that their trust is justified." Among the six items he is accused of stealing from Prince Charles are an inscribed silver salver, a metal pepper grinder and a book, "Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour." Another was described by police only as "an Indiana Jones bullwhip." Burrell had been arrested on suspicion of theft in January. His home near Chester in northwest England was searched by officers who allegedly found Diana's personal belongings. He has been free on bail since then. Among the 315 items allegedly taken from Diana were photographs from her sons' birthday parties, a letter from Mother Teresa, a writing desk that was a wedding present from the city of Aberdeen, and recordings by Neil Diamond, Leo Sayer, ABBA, Elton John and Phil Collins. He also was accused of taking a Christian LaCroix embroidered jacket, brown leather jacket, brown leather dress, skirts, evening dresses, high heels and bags by Prada and Versace. Items allegedly taken from Prince William included the Hasselhoff photo, framed pictures of him with models Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, and 12 cards "from Mummy."
It's a crying shame that The Princess Of Hearts did not get the full use of that splendid antique writing desk. She deserved better than dying ign............hignomi........................ignomi..............................................in a bad way in that tunnel in Frogland. ER wipes a tear from his eye.
