I was just about to say, does anybody have a link? Where'd you see it Ben? I couldn't see it properly on Monday, all I could see was blood.
No, we need players who are better than Burnley. Scrappy is what burnley are, so playing like they do wouldn't suit us because we aren't a team that kick other teams to death. If we try match them like that, we will lose. Huddlestone can pass Burnley off the park.
Look John, I've had a virus. I've not been sleeping well. You've not seen me at my best. Just give me a few weeks.
Huddlestone will start so I hope you are right, for me he has cost us too many times this season giving the ball away, giving away stupid free-kicks and so on. How many games has he passed other teams off the park this season?
Monday night aside, I don't think he's directly cost us any games or goals. If he has done, it's only because he's not performed as we expected him to so it's a testament to how good a player he is that when he has an off day, we as a team suffer. Aside from the one time he cost us a goal, Thudd was pretty neat in possession, he turned a few of their midfielders and looked pretty composed; it wasn't until after his mistake that he started to go downhill. I don't have a problem playing Meyler against the likes of Arsenal or Man City because he's the kind of player who will get in their faces, but his passing game is woeful and we can't afford to have both him and Livermore in the side doing the same role. It's all well and good being able to tackle, but what's the point if you're going to give it straight back to the opposition player? Huddlestone can pick a pass, he's renowned for it up and down the country and Arsenal knew that if they took him out the game, our metronome was gone and we'd have no rhythmn. Burnley won't try and do that, instead they'll use players like Boyd, Arfield and Marney to kick lumps out of us and try and wind us up, win free kicks and score from set pieces. Aluko, Elmo and Brady will enjoy being able to get at their relatively slow back line and I'm expecting plenty of crosses, so I hope N'Doye and Jelavic turn up for this one.
