I think those first two at Chester are very decent horses. I disagree with the commentators that Norton won it at the start as I think Rah Rah would have won from either position. I think she had plenty left and had just stopped racing until Silver Wings came to her. I backed Silver Wings but no complaints with that, best horse won, but both will win more races. Silver wings a solid 5 furlong horse but Rah Rah will get 6 for something at Royal Ascot without any problem.
I agree Ste - however I must say I don't know if Hughsie is the man for the horse. I fear he will be afraid to make use of the draw and will allow too many to come across and be left to travel on the inside but down the field, he will then need come wide to mount a challenge and may not make up the ground on something that has already gone. If he can sit inside in the top 4 or 5 however he will go very close.
It is all a bit silly the amount of Gabriel horses that the owner has. I think most people understand he is devoted to his son by now but he could vary it up a bit. Imagine if every owner were that sentimental it could get really silly over the jumps with the amount of horses JP McManus owns.
Apologies for not tipping Diamondsandrubies purely on the grounds that her dam was Quarter Moon. The thrice Classic placed filly is not where the moniker comes from and her offspring to date do not have a brilliant record on the racecourse.
