  1. It's a disgrace, he shouldn't have been signed

  2. I'm all for the move, what he did doesn't bother me

  3. I have mixed emotions, but on balance we need him

    Yep. I'm quite well placed to comment on this having worked for three years in Canning Town where Lee grew up and now living in between Leeds and Bradford.

    Guys FFS what a load of garbage! I have always thought that we live in a fair society where people are forgiven for their past? He may not be one of the nicest characters but we are buying him for his talent as a footballer! What he did or was alleged to have done is now in the dim and distant past, well it is until some people keep dragging it up! Everyone has a right to forgiveness and rehabilitation and I am frankly disgusted that some people on here can't seem to let it rest.

    He is now an Ipswich Town player and I say welcome Lee Bowyer we need your talents on the pitch as we have been missing a midfield enforcer for years and years. A fantastic and inspired move by PJ and I would rather have him than Norris any day!

    If he was good enough for Sir Bobby to sign him then that's good enough for me! <ok>

    I find this article hilarious. He had an incident nine years ago, and everyone will bang on about it forever.

    What I find even funnier still, is Cheyrl Cole had a racist attack in a toilet and is the nations sweetheart still.

    Mind you saying that Westlake it would be a bit odd to accuse Cheryl Cole of being a racist given who she was married to! I agree with your sentiments about Lee Bowyer. The guy hasn't even played a game for us yet and he is being slagged off already!

    JWM - what you say about forgiveness and rehabilitation is bang on <ok>

    Stretchy - yeah I wouldn't have wanted to be around there at night. Even during the day I once saw someone pull a gun on somebody. I had a knife pulled on me once as well and didn't hesitate handing over a hundred quid from the cashpoint.

    Yeah and the BNP has ethnic minority supporters too. I am quite astounded how thick some people are being on this thread. Nick Griffin says he's not a racist so let's go and vote for him <doh>

    It would frankly be a miracle if Bowyer grew up in Canning Town without having some black friends.
