Is it? Who the **** is going to buy them?

Next to the netting within spitting distance of the away fans is going to be a hard sell isn't it?

Possibly, I was more thinking of not just assuming your own narrow experience was the be all and end all, especially given the journey we've had. It gave us an opportunity to see what the fans of most clubs think, and I'd say you're the one out of step.

Provincial lower league ****e? That will explain why some City fans in the Stretford End were ejected for not cheering when Man Utd scored as this was considered a provocation.

We have enough idiots who would jump at the chance to be near the away fans and have a bit of 'agro', doing their best 'Green Street' impression and the like.

Obviously only as long as there was netting and stewards in the way.

That'll solve the problem of the obvious over spill into that section from aways like me booking seats as close to the away area as possible, but it'll merely disperse it across the ground.

You thought it was fine to threaten an opposition supporter whilst in the company of your 5-year old daughter. Dickhead Dad of the Year.

As the fans representative on the Safety Advisory Group, I'm tasked with letting the group know if any of the stewards are acting inappropriately or not carrying out their duties correctly.

Maybe our fans could get really hard and throw bricks through the windows of coaches with women and children in like rugby fans?

It was widely reported at the time. The clown who is the police officer laughingly titled Fans Liaison Officer even got involved hoping to get them a ban. That is his whole reason for being. The police have never managed to arrest any away fans tearing up seats and throwing them but plenty of City fans being banned for waving their arms about. One for "generally having a lot off",an offence no one knew of and which didn't have to involve anything inconvenient like a court appearance. One for shouting "we 're not gay enough for you at a Brighton game, something which the Brighton fans laughed at but which was described by a significant arrest by our inept plod who didn't manage to arrest a single Millwall or Cardiff fan who ripped up seats in front of the police box and who were caught on the more than 65 CCTV cameras in the ground.
Another good example involved Everton. A City fan let off a single smoke flare at Goodison. This didn't seem to concern the stewards or police too much but the clown mentioned above asked for CCTV from the days nod spent weeks tracking him down and getting him banned, spouting guff about the danger of people choking, getting trampled in the rush to get away, danger of fire...Come the game at the KC and Everton fans let off a number of flares without a steward or police officer showing any interest.
City fans were attacked in Belgium. Our Fans Liaison Officer generously offered to stay behind and assist the Belgian police. Assist them to identify any City fans who may have retaliated that is, with a view to getting them banned.

Sounds like he needs ****ing right off.

You need common sense to prevail when it comes to stewarding and policing football and the last thing you need is some Jobsworth, tick box, council type, knob jockey, getting your own turfed out for doing nothing! We had an issue with smoke bombs btw, not aways our own letting them off every week, and we had them at a lot of aways as well. They tried clamping down on it, but it was never heavy handed.

Corcoran hasn't been doing it all that long, he only took over in 2013.

Nearly all the banning orders are for setting off flares nowadays, the only other one I remember in recent seasons was the bloke done for racist chanting at the Swansea game.

Always put this clip on when the dangers of smoke bombs get mentioned. Same capacity as the KC with no roofs yet no problems with lack of acoustics meaning it is quiet. Maybe because they are all joining in. Don't think our equivalent of their large stand, our West Stand, will see similar scenes with streamers cascading out.
Certainly makes you realise how dangerous just one smoke flare could be, asthma attacks, panic stricken people fleeing from it, stands set on fire. In England anyway.
This game is a friendly BTW.

Corcoran has been involved in City matters for a long time in one way or another. He was the person who justified closing all the pubs when we played Chelsea in the Cup at BP on the basis it was difficult to gauge how many away fans would travel to the game. My letter to the HDM informing him that as it was an all ticket game the best estimate was between one and how many tickets Chelsea were given would be the answer seeing as it had been announced it was a sell out, or he could have used this new tangled invention called the telephone and rung Chelsea to see how many tickets were sold, didn't go down too well I was informed.
Fortunately I used my nom de plume when police matters were concerned of S Holmes. A poster on here replied to the DM saying he agreed and signed it D R Watson. Those were the days. You could get things printed far easier than now.

He was indeed part of the football 'intelligence' unit, before being appointed in his current role.
