Tbf. big difference between 2 years and 11. You specialise in failure, United are just learning

Says the fan who's team went 50 years without winning the league, talk about specialising in failure, you lot made the book and wrote the rules on how to be a failure. Oh but I forgot I was dealing with a plastic Chelski fan who only started supporting Chelsea in 2005.

Sounding like a Scouser A87. Why is your avatar Ronaldo undressing btw?

  5. I like how a lot of otherwise anonymous Gooners come crawling out of the woodwork as soon as - but only when - it's completely safe to do so.

For many on this site, "banter" over the course of a season is a frightening, if not, taboo practice. You really do want to learn to take a few more risks, my poor little wilting violets! Banter isn't half a scary as nasty grown-ups like me make it out to be. Sure, you'll get "owned" a lot, but that's half the fun!

I have enjoyed our banter this season and look forward to more next season.

Banter and bragging rights over Derby wins is partly why we are fans, the other part is about watching a simple game played with skill and passion and that moment of elation when the ball hits the back of the opponents goal.
I have been watching football for over 50 years and I still get the same buzz of excitement from watching it.
I tip my hat to Chelsea for winning the title this year and I hope we mount a decent challenge next season.
Happy St Tots day to HIAG and the rest of the Spurs fans, there is always next year!

Ps - don't tell HIAG but there is a Power Shift in North London - it is the one where Arsenal move forward and Spurs go backwards

  9. Celetrating St Arsehole's Day and St Totteringham Day are certainly part of the fun. It's quite fair that we get to celebrate St Arsehole's Day before you guys get to celebtrate St Totteringham Day. That's just the way things are.

And for all those guys who said that there was a shift in power, I think they're going to have to wait another season to find out if that's the case or not. I remain - as I have been all season - uncertain on the matter.

I know <ok>. My idea of heaven is Crete. If you are near there, I am very jealous.

No update on Jimmy, still in a serious condition. Nice to see that the great man has respect across all supporters. One of the game's greats, not just my team's.

  12. Jimmy Greaves is my all-time favourite player. Greatly underrated, both today, and certainly in his own time.

I have a limited edition signed poster of Jimmy, on the field at the Lane, kicking a ball, in 1957. I still haven't got round to getting it framed and hung.

What was he doing at the Lane then - aged 17? Didn't join us for another 4 years? Presumably he is in a Chelsea shirt?

  15. Just dug the poster out - I got it wrong.

It says at the foot of the frame: "Legends Series - Jimmy Greaves. Spurs' striker, Jimmy Greaves, skips past the challenge of Leicester's Frank McLintock at White Heart Lane in 1962."

Okay, so I was 5 years out on my recollection!
    <laugh>

He'd long left Spurs by the time I got to watch Spurs play.

Jimmy joined us in 1961 from A.C. Milan for a then record fee of £99,999. As a kid, I was behind the goal at his first home game for us. He scored a hat trick against, I think, Blackpool. One a spectacular bicycle kick.

In 1957 he did score at WHL - just against us. We learned to forgive him.

You can't even spell the name of your club's ground correctly <whistle>
Is "just dug the poster" a euphemism for "just looked on Wikipedia" ? ;)
