Someone burgled me on the weekend! Thankfully the only stole 1 thing...I'm assuming because my roommates were home they didn't want to chance it?

Does anyone have advice as to stores in the Newcastle city centre I might check to see if they sell it on?

Seriously, they're going to have to sell it (since they left the charger behind), but I don't know the city well enough to know of any second-electronics stores or pawn shops, so if anyone knows of any I could check it'd be a huge help

*and to the guy who left the tag, I'm now out over 500, so the wound's a little too fresh for jokes

Cash Converter on Clayton Street. First place I'd check, all the smackheads go there to get their cheques cashed.

EDIT: And cash in on their stolen wares of course.

All the best with that (I don't fancy your chances). The above mentioned by others are the only ones I can think of. They might just be stupid enough.

There is no stopping them now. At about 3.15pm last Thursday beside a busy road in Newcastle I watched as 2 little scumballs tried to nick a lasses motorbike across the rode. If you're willing to do that in broad daylight, clearly shame is not a problem. I didn't find the incident funny in general because I hate thieving. However I must admit it was slightly amusing that as the owner came running over the road from her place of work shouting "WTF are you doing you bastard?", they realised she was of the larger variety, and alowed her to get within 10ft before actually making their getaway.

Yeah I hate thieving like, can't stand it. Any sort of theft is frankly sickening, including music and jokes etc. At about 3.15pm last Thursday beside a busy road in Newcastle I watched as 2 little scumballs tried to nick a lasses motorbike across the road. If you're willing to do that in broad daylight, clearly shame is not a problem. Never nice to have anything stolen, plus the thought of somebody pawing over your personal belongings. I hope the police catch the person that did it and you get your camera back.

My niece had her flat that she shares with other students, broken into in Sheffield (Uni) last week and they took anything that moved.

I've never been burgled, but a mate had his house burgled a few years ago.

One of the most horrible incidents I've ever heard about. The bastards broke in, took nothing excpet a wallet, but threw his 7-yr-olds hamster out a third-floor window onto a road.

Ya, I definitely don't expect to ever see it again, and might just suck it up and buy the same camera again (it's ironically on sale at Currys right now). But I originally called the cops knowing I'd need a police report for mastercard insurance -- unfortunately I'm a month or two past the 90 days after purchase credit card insurance. It was nice of them to still do the finger printing though, I didn't expect them to take it seriously, and I don't expect the guy (or girl) to get caught, but at least I'll try.

That's just ****ed up. That's why I'm starting to believe the theory of a human sub-species, I simply MUST be made of entirely different genes to ****s like that.

That's one of the most bizarre and inanely sinister things I've ever heard?

That is really sick! They should be flogged if they get caught. Or better still, your mate and his mates meet up with the villians and give them some good old fashioned justice.

About 10 years ago, I got back from holiday to discover that my flat had been burgled. I phoned the police who said they'd be around soon and I then decided to see what had been taken.

The PS1 and all the games, my mobile and stereo had all been stolen. I searched my brothers room as well and noted that nothing of his had been nicked so I went down to the kitchen and noted that the 'break in' had occurred from inside the flat as the smashed glass was on the outside of the house.

I phoned the police to cancel them coming round as it dawned on me that my brother had sold my stuff. I packed everything I had left, called the landlady and told her I was moving out; my brother would pay the rent and moved into my girlfriends place.

That must have hurt more than if it had been opportunist burglars.
