The only problem is he only sees things through his magic patented conspiracy glasses that only "special" people who are intellectually superior and somehow immune to the media that has turned the rest of us into brainless zombies.

I have seen a few papers over the years that examine why some people feel the need to be part of that group and the relationship to certain mental health conditions. Nothing definite in terms of cause/effect/likelihood etc but there are clearly large numbers of floridly psychotic people who display similar characteristics.

PS I also remember one study that claimed some kind of statistical relationship but factored in that is was due to higher use of cannabis in that population (their claim).

    Agree with this 100%.

Political parties tend to polarise on certain issues.

Whereas individuals may have a middle-of-the-road approach, parties encourage taking opposite stances. A Sortocracy would have multiple advantages. No time wasted for campaigning. No career politicians. Kill the power of lobbying groups. Better represent the people. People do what they think is right, not what will get them re-elected. Less fighting within the government body as one-upmanship against rival parties wouldn't exist.

****ing hilarious that you're posting rants by a cock like Brand as if he's got any credibility as a political pundit.

An ex smack head misogynist, who lives his entire life in character. His opinion isn't worth a light.

Actually parties encourage taking almost the same stance, but doing their utmost to portray it as being opposite.

Politics has basically grown to resemble classic economics problems. If there is a beach with people evenly distributed from one end to the other, then the ideal position for two competing ice cream vans is for both to be almost bang in the centre, but shouting as load as they can how they are different and better than their rival.

Politics becomes the same - any sort of ideological views are subverted to the simple fact that you need at least 35% support to have a chance of forming a government without having to compromise your ideology anyway. Politicians would much rather be a Blair, who sacrificed his beliefs to win 11 years of office, than Howard or Kinnock who followed what they believed and trailed in a distant second. So they dump themselves in the middle ground and use campaigns like "New Labour" to claim they have just improved what they believe, rather than abandoned it.

And ultimately it works, so they keep doing it...

There good and bad of dictatorship.
You can see good and bad under the following leaders:
    1.Robert Mubage.
    2.Fidel Castro.
    Kim Jong-un
    Xi Jinping
    Idi Amin
For the Queen to be powerful, there must be a change in the British Constitution. Who is going to make the change???

    totally true

the jack of all trades or centrist, or better let pinko leftie who's also a conservative when it suits are the types who get in.

UKIP and the monster raving lunny party ahev proved this many times.

In fact its only where normality has been completely subverted by lunacy like in Northern Ireland or In Scotlands where you get UUP, DUP, Sinn fein ,SDLP or SNp even getting a look in.

The point being.... constitutions ar eonly paper. you have to fight for the rights enshrined in them or have them taken away

SNP are only getting a look in now as a single issue party. 90% of their voters are hoping that by voting SNP they can **** up Westminster and thus create the conditions for a new referendum.

Tbh Sturgeon is playing it perfectly as well - saying a government without Scottish MPs won't be legitimate and that they will vote down Labour's QS, whilst all the time claiming to want to be a progressive force for good across the whole UK. Thus putting conditions in place to bring down any minority government then turn around and say "we tried to work with them but those mean old Westminsterites just hate Scotland. New vote please"

    ****.

yes but single issues in a nutsoid place like scotland who've no reason but stupidity to think their lot is so bad they need it.

The scottish regional parliment without real powers has created a home for this looney bin party.
