2. Isn't true either, everyone has their price and if someone dumped a 16 wheelers worth of cash we would sell. A better way to word it would be that we wouldn't sell him to a rival for a price they would be willing to pay.
We will see many more stories like this before august whether we stay up or not, the lad has obvious class and quality and I hope we keep him
£12m seems an awful lot for a lad still learning his trade, going forward he`s great, but positionally at the back he has been caught out far too often, hence why Brady will likely keep his place for the run in. IMHO the lad needs another season before he is ready to step up to so called `bigger` clubs, although the potential is there.
If you value him against other young LBs who are very good going forward but defensively sometimes flawed, then the obvious one to point to is Luke Shaw. If he was worth what he was then Andy is well worth £12m and then some.
Robertson I think is going to go the same way as Bale, start out as a Lb but then slowly end up becoming a winger. His shot at the end hit Coquelin and he went down like he'd been hit by a cannonball.
If we were offered £12m, he'd be gone, no question. No way Villa are going to offer £12m though, so this story's bollocks.
I like much of what you've said, but rather than pay for young players coming in, I'd like for us to bring through our own talent and sell on if need be. There are several I could think of that would be worth giving senior debuts to next season irrespective of what league we find ourselves in.
I think people really are getting carried away with his worth here. How many - seriously count and name them - outstanding games has he had? I reckon about 5 and I'm being generous. He has had more games where he has looked out of his depth and very, very raw. If someone offered 12m and I was in charge I'd snap their hands off. Yes he might go on to be truly outstanding but even if he does, 12m is a good price. I'd suggest there is just as much if not more chance of him "doing a Curtis" and tailing off to being an average Premier League player. And Brady is looking more and more like our long-term solution in that role anyway. So in conclusion, anything 12m or north and I'd definitely sell him.
