Looks like Congerton is already talking to agents in case we stay up. I like these links. Inter Loanee Set For Premier League Return With Newcastle United Or Sunderland please log in to view this image Inter forward Lukas Podolski will leave Serie A when his loan ends in June, with a resumption of his career in English football most likely. The German international is currently contracted toArsenal, but could be surplus to requirements on his return to the Gunners’ squad having struggled for game-time prior to a temporary switch to Italy. According to reports in the Sun newspaper, there is strong interest in his services from north-east Premier League duo Sunderland and Newcastle United, but it still remains unclear whether Podolski has any realistic hope of forcing his way back into Arsene Wenger’s plans in north London. It’s been a difficult stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for the 29-year-old since joining up with the Nerazzurri in January, while managing only eight league starts and one goal so far. Senegal star on Sunderland radar Sunderland, Latest news update: 2 hours 10 minutes ago Sunderland are one of four Premier League clubs showing interest in Bordeaux winger Henri Saivet. The 24-year-old Senegal international has been hailed as the next Thierry Henry in France and has the ability to play up front as well as out wide. The Daily Star Sunday claim Swansea City are poised to move for Saivet at the end of this season, but Bournemouth, Sunderland and Southampton are also interested. Black Cats scouts were regularly spotted at Bordeaux matches earlier this season when on-loan Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori was reported to be the club's prime target. Saivet played on the left of the Bordeaux attack in their 0-0 draw with Lorient last weekend and could be being lined up to replace the ineffectual Ricky Alvarez in the squad.
We can only dream, but IF we stay up and IF we keep hold of Dick, I'm sure he will have more pulling power than previous managers.
I'm still non the wiser as to whether I want Dick to stay or not. I mean, he's got us keeping things simple and within the squads capabilities but that's something most of us were calling for. Still don't know if he's the best man to develop us though.
I agree FD but maybe, just maybe, a wise old head to steady the ship, pull in the better quality players and then hand the reins over after two seasons to a younger more progressive minded manager thus giving him a better footing than any of our other managers have had.
Give Dick a 1 year contract and get Clement in as his number 2 for a year then let Clement step up maybe? Should we stay up of course.
Watched Saivet a fair few times, anybody who compared him with Henry is a fool. The only thing he shares with him is a name and even that's spelled differently. Decent player, probably better than Wickham if you want a wideman-cum-forward. I'd imagine he'd cost about £4-5m which really doesn't represent a risk. He'd be a good addition to your squad, if he gave more effort on the pitch he could be a great addition.
I've not really seen much of his teams to be honest, apart from the derby, I've been away for the rest so i'll reserve judgement on him. He is well respected though and would be a big bonus in drawing in quality players, plus I reckon he won't let the players rule the roost either. Something we desperately need, we need a strong manager for sure. Whether it's him or A. N. Other, he needs to be strong and sort the ****ers out.
0HAVE YOUR SAY SUNDERLAND have been linked with a fresh move for out-of-contract Manchester City defender Micah Richards. The Black Cats were offered Richards’ services on a season-long loan last summer, but then head coach Gus Poyet opted against the move. Poyet didn’t think that Richards would fit into his playing philosophy, with Sunderland instead landing Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates on a loan deal. Richards ultimately joined Serie A’s Fiorentina on loan and has made 18 appearances for the Italian side in all competitions this season. But the 26-year-old’s Man City contract expires this summer and he will leave the Etihad on a free transfer. Sunderland will be in the market for defensive reinforcements at the end of the campaign, regardless of which division they are in, with Wes Brown and Anthony Reveillere out of contract, and Coates and Santiago Vergini only at the Stadium of Light on loan, albeit the latter is expected to pen a permanent deal.
