I will be surprised if we get anything at Everton, the Leicester game will be massive for us. Even if we win that I expect us to need another point to stay up. Our only saving grace is Arsenal and Chelsea might be on the beach by then and both may have nothing to play for.

I'd have thought we're more likely to get a result at a mid table side like Everton tbh.

This. Two of our remaining four have **** all to play for and Arsenal will have mathematically qualified for CL by them. We have to believe there's points available outside the Leicester.

All of the other relegation battlers have had 'fluke results' so now it's our turn.

Last season we went through a period of losing to the bottom teams then followed that by surprising Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd etc.

Why should this season be any different?

Winning at Everton will be a massive psychological blow to Newcastle.

Unfortunately I think Villa will win as Benteke is doing his usual " putting himself in the shop window end of season revival act".
If Carver is still at the helm I am hoping Gards can do us a favour and hit a thirty yard screaming winner.

PS, don't worry tho we will get our points off the last two games.

Well I hope you guys are right, I am very worried.

On a positive note, Brown being back will make us more solid at the back. Graham has got to get a goal soon, its a law of averages.

... absolutely ... and not impossible ... as acknowledged in the first word of my comments which merely offered debate around the foundations of the hypothesis ...

A hypothesis has no foundation. It ponders possibilities without the shackles of truth or bases.

<laugh> "... basking in previous results" ... you make me sound like I'm harking back to having won five European Cups rather than commenting on our last 6 games ... and 'Champions League form' <laugh> - I will concede that I may have commented that winning 5 out of 6 (or possibly 4 out of 5) had to put us up there in a 'current form league' ... but that is all. As for complacent? ... certainly not ... been supporting the club man and boy since the 1969/70 season and have seen enough ups and downs to appreciate the fickle nature of the game .... and I, like probably 99% of all LCFC fans was, come mid-march, resigned to us going down with the scant consolation of complimentary plaudits from commentators and managers in regard to our performance along the way ... what has happened since has been beyond most supporters wildest expectations ... having our fate in our own hands has to be a plus ... getting over the line, however, is a huge challenge ... and I'm taking nothing for granted whatsoever ... but form wise I couldn't want it any differently realistically (i.e Chelsea was always going to be a huge ask - but we gave it a go) ....

Depends on the type of hypothesis to be fair Funky. In mathematics the null hypothesis is used to lay out the starting assumption which you then seek to disprove, in that case the hypothesis is itself the foundations for the trial, the null hypothesis usually - though not always - emanating from previous trial data.

Anyway it should be an interesting few weeks.

Hypotheses are usually based on earlier observations too.

I think stating your recent form as well as saying nothing about European Cups makes me pretty sure it sounded nothing like that. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Though I do acknowledge after seeing so many blue fox related Avatars today, I may have got the wrong person completely<laugh> . If that's the case I apologize fella.

Alright smart arse. Ok, I didn't consider it in a maths sense and it is indeed a hypothesis based on mathematical Data <doh><ok><laugh>

    Wasn't having a go funky :)

I almost feel bad saying it but at least the recent results have awoken the Newcastle fan in me, at least it is now interesting (and threatening to get too interesting). If only I were neutral it could be great to watch. As it is it feels like it may be molten pain whatever the outcome.

No problem <laugh> .. just heard that Newcastle have confirmed that Carver is to remain until the end of the season ... that might be good news for all of us ... rarely seen such a woeful display from a top flight side as I witnessed on Saturday ... felt very sorry for the travelling fans ... hell of a long way to come for such a gutless performance from your team ... the goals total could easily have been doubled ... and I'm not meaning a draw <laugh> ... their confidence against West Brom is going to be very fragile ... if I was Carver I'd keep Colback and Krul in the side but seriously consider dropping all of the others that haven't already 'dropped' themselves ...
