There were comfortably 2500+ supporters from Hull there that day, there were very few mariners fans in sight of the away exit at full time, if you mean well away from the ground then that is something completely different and not what you have wrote. Yeah, I would've been on my toes sharpish aswell, from memory, they seemed a fairly boisterous bunch.
This was the game where we drew 1-1 with them when I think a win would have seen them promoted (not completely sure on that). After the game we had to walk between two lines of police to get back to our coach with Grimsby fans baying at us on both sides. Memories can sometimes play tricks, but that was the only time I experienced that at an away ground, so I'm pretty sure.
