Pellegrini has claimed that his Man City side last season won the Title with more flair and style. You could say that it's hard to argue with that really, as the Chavs won this title scoring the least goals and having the least shots on target in PL history. 'It's important for the fans to play attractive football' is a phrase lost on the Mourinho. Park the bus 19th Century football is his style and whilst it might be effective, is Pelligrini is right that it lacks style and flair ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32578400
Apart from two of Arsenal's three titles. We've scored 69 with three games left. You only got 68 in 97/8 and we are on course to overtake your invincibles' total of 73 in 03/4. So I guess it is hard to argue your 97/8 champions weren't more boring, only scoring 68 goals and following it up with a measly 59 the next year when you came second too just to prove how dull you were. In Wenger's first five seasons you scored 62, 68, 59, 73, 63 goals! Best to do your research before WUMMing. Saves you looking silly United also won several titles scoring 67-74 goals; with three games to go we are likely to match or overtake these totals too, plus our own 72 goals totals in 04/5 and 05/6.
As I've said before, Mourinho has never claimed to be in the entertainment business, he's in the business of winning. Chelsea are champions and deservedly so. The rest of us have some catching up to do, for they will surely strengthen on the summer.
I don't think Mourinho, or the vast majority of Chavs will give a toss about what you or I think. Fact is, they're league champions, and comfortably so.
Can't have ago at Chelsea there playing to there strengths. If they attacked against the bigger teams there probably lose so better to play to your strengths really. Net season should be alot closer though.
Football worldwide is becoming more negative, or at least defences are improving at a faster rate than attackers. The average goals per game across the world is on a downward curve particularly in Argentina and Brazil. You could argue Mourinho is just ahead of the curve in his way of thinking. However, football is cyclical and eventually attacking football will win the day again at least for a bit.
Chelsea have won the league, because they are the best of a bad bunch. For a truer picture of how strong the Prem's top 6 or 7 sides are this season, look at how English clubs fared in the CL and Europa League. None covered themselves in glory. It's not The Smug One's fault that there has been no manager out there to wipe that smug grin off his face, this season.
Or that Piskie has egg on his face and is too scrared to revisit his thread. Arsenal 68 goals when they won the title in 97:8 Anyone?
I dont blame Chavbus for parking the bus, best team won it, sadly no other team this year were much good to offer a challenge.
Where's Piskie gone?? Most embarrassing thread I've seen for a while.... Is there an egg on face smiley?
This deserves a bump as it was such an epic fail from the OP who has been MIA on this thread since....
Thanks for bumping the thread and letting everyone know that Chelsea are less boring than Arsenal's double winning side and on course to be about as boring as Arsenal's draw specialists from 2003/4.
Chelsea are very boring, just like their boring fans as Mo himself said, boring boring, with plastic boring fans like you who joined along in 2006. Draw specialists better than being specialists in racism.
