The court of human rights has nothing to do with the EU at all. And I don't believe that any court has ruled on his wife's case, the council stopped action on this.

I am not defending them, but a house of that sort is two a penny in London and at that price, it's sensationalism by the press on the value of the property, they would all be of values that are eye watering to us in Wales .

Like it or not, she's not the one who has committed crimes, that is her husband, and as they need that house, according to the way the rules stand right now the council has to pay the rent.

Do you know why your taxes went up, and do you honestly believe Labour wouldn't raise taxes as well? Labour are lying to you, like they always have and always will. Do you honestly think Miliband will refuse to deal with the SNP and throw away his chance at power? It is a laughable notion.

They are all the same Jäger when a recession is in place, Labour are not your friends and Wales is a special place for them... they **** on us even during the good times.

I can't believe you think the Tories are any worse, I swear one of the reasons this country is doing so much worse than the rest of the UK is it's blind loyalty to Labour. That party treats this as it's safe nation and as such knows it can do nothing for it and still win here.

I am voting UKIP. I know my taxes are going up. They would go up no matter who is in power. They have to go up. If they didn't go up we'd be in Greece's position as we wouldn't make the repayments needed for our deficit.

I laugh at the things thrown at the Tories. One day it is benefits are being cut, the next day the conversation changes to national debt and then it is well look under Tories welfare has gone up! So which is it? Is it cut or is it up?

I'm voting UKIP because are the only ones who really want to fix the broken EU. They won't break the NHS because there would be riots in the streets and they know that is a national security issue, Whitehall would be applying much pressure to resist public sector cuts. Like the Tories there would be increase in doctors and nurses, with cuts to managers and non-medical related consulting agencies who frankly are not needed and were brought in under Labour which sapped many billions away from actual healthcare.

Wales will never progress under Labour. That means I will never progress under Labour which has always been the case. And it means you will not progress neither.

Did you know that local companies write to the DVLA that they are paying over the odds for staff and that it makes their business hard to pay for. Despite DVLA staff starting on £16,000?!?! So local companies are struggling to pay their staff just a measly £16,000!!!!!

Our Labour led Welsh economy is pitiful. It will be a long time before I consider giving them my vote ever again.

That is up to you, for me I couldn't vote for a far right party that plays the blame game onto immigrants, everything with them hinge on that! I am married to an immigrant, if these people were in power at the time of my wife and were coming here she would not have been able to come here.

You are saying about labour screwing us over in Wales, well you are right in some ways, but your vote for UKIP will help the Tories come back in power, do you realise what they did to industry in Wales? How easy people forget about the decimation of mining and other industry here.

Wales will never progress under the Tories, we are an irritant to them, just like Scotland and Ireland , they are an English party, only interested in middle England. Anyone who votes for them is for the bedroom tax, is for the discrimination of the disabled, is for cutting services.

As for the dvla paying people, they pay a living wage, if businesses cannot afford to pay someone a wage where it's not subsided by the tax payer, then you have to ask how viable is that business?

Farage's wife is an immigrant. Just thought you should know that. UKIP have clearly stated they want the same system that is in place in Australia, which is similar to America, Canada and Japan. Provided your wife provides a key contribution to the country she is allowed here, and provided she has been here working for long enough she is entitled to some benefits. Saying that it is not written in the manifesto that she can't remain here as a housewife. Just don't expect the oodles of benefits that come with unemoyment. Which is what I said all along and should be applied to British nationalities as well. That doesn't sound unfair. And the Welsh industry collapsed itself, if it was profitable then the whole industry would have gone private and remained a major employer. But it didn't. Care to take a guess why? Market forces dictate government policy on energy Jäger.

You seem to generalise quite well regarding what we are when we vote, as a Labour voter I haven't said you support *****philes, thieves, rapists. I haven't accused you of treason by putting people of other nations before your own. Don't presume you know what I am voting in, you clearly don't know much about any of the parties in this election.

And then you speak how viable is a business? Guess what, it's always been like that. Is that all the Tories fault? I suppose Labour has never been in a position to fix business in Wales?

Sorry to say this Jäger but you are just like most of the people in this country who are blindly loyal to a party that has run this country into the ground.

PS. You mentioned those mines and business viabity in the same post, how did you not manage to connect the two?

The problem was my wife couldn't contribute much to the country when she came here, she was pregnant at that time, and as she was here not on the correct visa she would likely have been deported at that time. Also at that time I claimed benefits for our child, and had child benefit as well, so what do you say about my wife having those benefits at then?

And by the way I gave my reasons for not voting for UKIP , I didn't mention your reasons at all, I also know that farage is married to a German woman. It still doesn't get around the fact that he puts the blame on immigrants for just about all that ails the UK , including traffic jams!

The fact is thatcher wanted to crush the miners, and decimated heavy industry in the UK , they used any means to do that, they even closed mines that were viable and had 10s of millions of coal in them. Now they are looking to reopen mines as we import about 90% of our coal. And we cannot rely on countries like China and Russia to provide this.

If you looked at my posts you would see that I'm voting tactically, I'm no huge fan of labour and align more with the Green Party, but voting for them like voting UKIP is a vote to put the Tories back into power.

I don't know why you are going on about *****philes etc, it's irrelevant to what we are discussing here, so I will not respond to that.

The businesses you mention as you brought it up, should be viable to operate, complaining that the government pays a living wage is not going to make them give less money because a company hasn't a business model that ensures it can staff it's business without contributions from the tax payers in the form of tax credits.

If you expect that UKIP will be a force of good together with their Tory mates, you carry on its up to you who you vote for, but they will screw Wales over like they have done in the past, have done now, and will do in the future.

As for business viability it's quite simple, most mines would have been viable if they weren't run by civil servants, most businesses would be viable if the government weren't involved

Some good points there by both of you.
For the first time ive taken a bit more interest in the elections, though i`m still unconvinced any of the leaders have the guts to make things better for all our people across the board because they are held back by EU, big business, blaming each other and the elite that rule them. !

I have asked a lot of people around 60+ of varying ages and back grounds through work and socially over the last couple of weeks their view on the parties and what they would ideally like to see happen, and nearly all of them view immigration as a main concern including quite a few second generation immigrants.

Plaid need a different approach to get our nations attention for next time to combat the medias sheeps impression of them as a nearly ran party !

I think Leanne Wood taking part in these debates have done wonders for Plaid. Maybe to late to have an impact on the GE but if they can build this momentum into the assembly elections next year then they can start to be seen as a serious party. Let's be honest the gogs in charge before were a waste of space. Leanne has done a good job in starting to change the perception.

Having read both Projects posts and Jagers, both make some valid points, but have either of you got to the heart of the matter? Wales should by it's size and population be a very profitable wealthy and easily governed nation, but the fact that it has been abused by the English for centuries has left Wales inept of any confidence, poor and divided.

Is it really so difficult for the Welsh assembly to get to grips with mobilising this hard working nation into action? The problem we have is there are no statesmen with vision. We need further independence from London and Westminster, we need to start capitalising on our natural resources, and kicking the English out of our affairs, only then will we move forward in a positive way. The south east and London has sucked the life out of the rest of the UK for far too long, and there is a ground swell of resentment throughout all regions of the UK over this, Scotland is showing us the way to go, and we should follow their example, the fact that Wales has no stomach for independence shows just how deep the damage of centuries of English rule has caused.

No one will prove to me that Wales with a population of just 3.5 Million should be the poorest in Europe, but that's how the Tory English scum would love it to stay, when will we wake up like the Scotts?.............<ok>

I understand that Phil, but would you put Cardiff City fans in a position of more power? We know how deluded they are ;)

Phil, the Labour group in Cardiff are more than happy to keep the status quo going as it is with this country. They have had a couple of decades to sort some fresh industries out here but have done nothing, encouraging new big business venture has been their responsibility since the little Cardiff organisation has existed. And 20 years later we see Wales as one of the poorest regions in the UK, they know they can get away with doing nothing and still be voted in.

Really? And what did Labour do to repair it then?

Ah yeah, that's right. They did sweet nothing and widened the gap of wealth between Wales and Scotland/England.

The Welsh assembly has been terrible for Swansea. Before, the UK's wealth was centralised in London and then the whole of Wales would be given X amount distributed roughly equally. Now, we still get given the same X amount but it's all centralised in Cardiff, the rest of Wales gets F-all especially Swansea as to maintain Cardiff as Wales' dominant city.
