I don't even think Ashley the gambler wants to take such a risk though. There's cheap and then there's losing massive amounts of money to relegation.
Not that any of my dosh will be spent on toon tickets any more. I gave up a while ago. I watch from my sofa now.

If so, then wouldn't the statement he made against Wilkinson, " Is it an easy way out?" be applicable here in a hypocritical fashion?

it's hard to believe this is the same group of players that beat Chelsea earlier in the season. watching them now I don't think 'THE SPECIAL ONE' could get this lot to get a win from the final 3 games. all the teams at the bottom are fighting and picking up points at the minute while we are out on our feet.

I think there was a total of twelve points won by teams around us yesterday. It really was Black Saturday.

McClaren is a decent manager, he pretty much turned Derby around, but then teams got used to his style, they got an injury or two, and it all went pear-shaped. For an instant impact, he may well do enough to keep us safe this term, however his managerial career indicates he doesn't tend to keep an upward curve going. A bit like Pardew really.

However, there's very few in the entire squad we have who are worth a spot next season (talking one or two), so I have serious qualms about anybody extracting a point or more from the last three games. The fact Raylor and Gutierrez still get a game, and nobody questions it because the other options are somehow worse, just says absolutely everything about what has happened to this club. Anybody managing this lot is up against it. I'm not a fan of Carver, not at all, but I appreciate he's had a go. I've welched from the task plenty of times on footy manager, with the "quit before save - then replay" tactic and all, so you have to give it up to anybody who looks at this squad and puts their reputation on the line for them. Honestly, this has absolutely buried Carver, and his position in the game, a game he clearly loves more than anything. Whoever is our next manager, or if Carver stays, I say stay off his back.

Make no mistakes guys, this football club has been allowed to ****ing deteriorate. I gave up my season ticket when we almost went down. I saw what was coming, and I know with the collective wisdom on here, I'm not the only one. WE ALL SAW THIS COMING. It's no use using Carver as a scapegoat, however out of his depth he may be, he said "Yes" to a job that I'd imagine 99% of us would have balked at (even with 11 games left and safety seemingly within grasp). Whether he's sold his soul working for Ashley, we can debate til the cows come home, whether he's a good coach/manager, we can discredit for eternity, but this man has shown some ****ing stones, and if he sticks around for the last three games, I for one will be impressed.

I wasn't embarrassed yesterday by his comments, he said exactly what I would have said. Mike Williamson is a lazy plodding dickhead and it was a tackle beyond stupidity, and Janmaat is 100% no better. Utter arseholes who yesterday showed no intelligence or desire for our football club.

I really can't believe people are calling Carver the worst manager in PL history. HE'S NOT A ****ING MANAGER!! He's a poor bastard who had to work under one of the most inept ****s ever and had to pick up the **** as it was flushing down the toilet.

The fat little **** should be cleaning the toilets. He knew what he letting himself in for but its all ok because he will slip back into the number 2 spot for the next five years the parasitic ****er. John Carver can go **** himself.

Look I hate Williamson as much as anyone. No one is denying he is **** but I don't buy he doesn't care. Just that he is a very limited footballer and can't do **** all save hoofing the ball.

Yet, Carver needs to keep that sort **** in house as it achieves nothing. Now he has spilled the beans, any sort of tiny vestiges of morale the team had has now been well and truly ****ing annihilated.

I don't think they should be mollycoddled and protected BRS, they defo don't deserve someone stepping gently around their wounded, pretty-boy, footballer egos... They should be ****ing embarrassed. They need a hard slap round the face and a very deep look in side. I thought Carver was spot on.

Carver isn't a great manager, in fact he's not a even a great example of a human-being, but it's time someone gave them a wake-up. Our own fans we're singing "we're sick of this ****" at 1-3 vs Swansea... But Carver can't come out and say what he said? That's unfair.

I'm not saying they need to be treated with kid gloves mate, its just Carver's outburst isn't achieving much save more division. Carver uses the old 'I'm one of them' and 'I would have booed as well' lines to simply alleviate any sort of responsibility he has for our current predicament. All this nonsense of 'Give me 11 Jack Colback's!' just makes him look like a ****ing ignoramus.

15:30, the day after the "manager" accuses players of getting themselves sent off in a horrific match which almost certainly sees us nailed on for relegation and where is Charnley, where is Ashley? Fck me, where's Wendy Taylor or Lee Marshall??!

It beggars belief that Mike Williamson can formalise and get out a statement when all he did was something a bit dumb. That this club is staring at relegation with £34m in the bank and a thug in charge, a backroom team as paper thin as is possible to have and a squad simply not fit for purpose, and still chooses, deliberately, disdainfully, to remain silent says it all.

Didn't take them long to issue statements ref Sports Direct following the Channel 4 documentary did it.
No not at all, very quick off the mark to defend and protect that tatty heap of crap, but no response and no passion in respect of the club.
Sums it up for me and still tens of thousands troop through the gates, Why? Surely they cannot have any belief in this corrupt regime any longer.
If anyone still thinks Ashley will learn from this and turn over a new leaf if we survive somehow, then they are truly deluded indeed.

Bang on. Within the hour a PR department had been mobilised to release another horse-sh1t statement protecting SD. Your own thug manager loses eight on the bounce, points his gammy finger at one player and the club just can't be fcking bothered. Forget Ashley, he's untouchable - someone should tie Charnley to a chair naked and set about his person with a variety of blunt, rusty objects until such time as he explains, with real, grown-up honesty exactly what the fck is going on.

Anyone that thinks the club will learn from 'mistakes' really is deluded. If we sign players they will mostly be freebies/ out of contracts/ loans with a couple of cheap and average French players to say we spent some money. It will be same again next season and we will all be talking about the same thing in 12 months.

Don't know why there is so much negativity, have you not seen the three / four top players we are now showing an interest in signing this summer - Funny this now comes at a time when the fans suddenly have become important and Ashely & Co need us to get behind the team - Really hope Ashley is p***ed off and miserable then he may finally know what it's like to be a Newcastle fan under this regime.

This surprised me. Why would be seriously looking at players now when we don't know where we will be playing next season. By all means continue scouting but making offers - its either newspaper bxllxcks or the club really has gone mad.
