    Digging up the marrow

What? I was bored and couldn't find anyrhing interesting to watch, OK.

Actually it wasn't as bad as I first feared. Still pretty bad though. It's the story of a film maker making a documentry, trying to find real monsters. All very silly but the monsters when they finally appear are quite funny.

The Princess Kaguya, it's like a 2 hour moving watercolour painting.

    Outlander:

Gave up after 45 minutes, wooden script, wooden acting.

    Fast and Furious 7

Decent enough entry in the franchise (you know what you're gonna get with these films now).

The ending was something else though - hits right in the feels with their tribute to Paul Walker.

Watched Paddington on Monday with my nieces. As long as you accept all the usual caveats with family films it's actually not bad.

I quite like Outlander, a bit more of an interesting entry into the action/sci fi genre. And its got john hurt in it - wjich is always a plus for any film

Watched 'We're Not Angels' last night. A bit of a mad film made in 89 with Di Niro and Sean Penn as escaped convicts pretending to be priests to make a getaway. Demi Moore is in it as well.

I expected a comedy - kinda like an American 'Nuns on the Run' but it was played realitively straight, set in the 30s.

Was ok, prob give it 6/10

I think John Hurt is fantastic, always liked him but he had nothing to work with apart from terrible dialogue.

Stalin era film with Tom Hardy. good film, well acted. mayby one or two plot holes but enjoyable enough. 7/10

    focus
a "hustle" type of film with Will Smith playing the main man. I usually like Smith, he has an easy going charm and likeability but he's just annoying in this film. As always with these type of movies, everything he does or has done to him is planned for or part of a scheme for him to walk away with the money. a bullshit film 2/10

A Million ways to die in the west:

Good in places, a bit like Blazing Saddles meets Support you local sheriff. Worth an extra point just for the cameos. 7/10

    Misery and Stand By Me

Both decent adaptations but a little over-rated.

    Far from the madding crowd

wonderful scenery and beautifully shot it looks great. Michael Sheen shows why he's a great actor, the scene where he's proposing to Bathsheba is a masterclass. the story has been told over and over but its worth a look if you like period dramas. 7/10

I saw it through to the end, its not bad, not as good as Ted mind you, and as I said its worth it just for one of the cameos in particular.
