A 2-1 loss. Two great goals from Grimsby to be fair to them. Very loud fans as well.

Here's hoping for the second leg

La Liga is so boring. I don't know why people like it. Personally, I'd be more interested in leagues in far flung (in a football sense) places like Greece, Turkey, and America).

Because Atletico Bilbao have awarded MLT an honour I have raised an eyelid in their direction. But just like a couple of decades ago when I realised that Celtic and Rangers had the Scottish Leagues by the throat, when I instantly lost interest back then, La Liga holds just as little fascination today, ie zero bar Bilbao.

It may seem arrogant, but as far as I'm concerned, every football club exists to play Southampton FC at some point. That's where the genuine lasting interest ends.

The thing with La Liga is, you put Real or Barca in any league in the world and they would have a very good chance of walking it. Always been interested to see how teams like Sevilla/Valencia would do in England, reckon they would be better than Liverpool/Spurs, perhaps sneaking a top 4 spot when it is a poor season (like this one)

Well, we'll never get the chance, though I doubt that Real or Barca would walk it. The week in, week out severe test would grind them down.

Now Celtic, on the other hand could join the English league. And it wouldn't surprise me if they eventually do.

What "severe test"? You clearly watch very little of La Liga if you think the bottom half teams there are any worse than the ones in England. The big factor would be the Xmas period and no winter break, but this would be overcome pretty quickly as they got used to it.

Celtic is another interesting one, I think they would struggle at first but as the PL money started to flood in they would be able to attract better players due to the club size and could see them competing near the top of the league given time. Whether or not it will ever happen, I am not sure.

If Celtic were to join, they would have to start in non-league

I can understand the interest in international and non-league football, but women's football? not even the women are interested in that, just the BBC.

I'm interested in international women's football...they had a large gate for an international at Wembley so I presume others are interested as well now that England Women's Team are more successful. Don't follow any other team, but I tend to be interested only in internationals in most sports. Not interested if I can't take a side.

Women's international football is sometimes better than mens - it's like watching L1 against Premier league, proper football without the cheating and bad attitudes.
