I don't see how you can be saying it was a bad fight just because it wasn't all action! It was a masterclass in boxing from Mayweather and he's just so good to watch. Sure we'd like every fight to be a Hagler/Hearns or a Benn/Eubank but you must appreciate the skill, discipline and unbelievable ability of a great fighter to make a world class fighter look ordinary.

I had Mayweather by 5 rounds and that was being generous to Pacqioua in a couple so how he could think he'd won is beyond me!

Agreed was an absolute masterclass of boxing, think Khan may back off from fighting him

Nice write up QM and a tad worrying that you do not mention my fillies classic fancy MALABAR.

She was a really slow learner as a juvenile but competed in all the top events and every time with great credit. With the standout filly of last year not in the field MALABAR will take a heck of a lot of beating. The whisper is that she has progressed well and in the past few weeks her price has steadily contracted from 25/1 in to single figures without her stepping foot on a racecourse. The yard were fourth in the colts race yesterday and can do even better in the fillies classic.
I had a decent ante post bet on her at 25's and the more I look at the race the more I am tempted to go in again.

Other way round I would imagine. Mayweather has very little to gain from fighting Khan.

    15:40 Newmarket (1000 Gns) - Jellicle Ball

(Good second to Redstart LTO at Newbury over 7f in decent time (1m 22.13s - fast by 0.37s). Should appreciate extra furlong. Will take the 8/1 B.O.G.currently available).

Guess I should add that our cat strongly fancies this; she 'paws' me the occasional winner when in the mood. Hope she's right.

Would love to see RIZEENA win today! Tough ask, but at 11/2 she does have claims on her 2014 GR1 form one I do like at a big price in the 3.00 - BLAINE 14/1 going firstly on the fact of ydays runners ones that have had a run this season already have seemed slightly more race ready! But was very good in some big handicaps last yr with the headgear seemed to be doing the trick! His 1st run over an adequate 5f earlier this season looks sure to have been a warm up and will come on for that race!! And the yard have a good record in this race! In the Guineas am willing to give TIGGY WIGGY - 20/1 ew another shot has to prove her stamina but she looked to stay the 7f a couple of weeks ago! And like my earlier comments I like the fact she has had a run - Ivawood ran a good 3rd yday after a lack luster run and hoping the stable can do the same with her and is a decent ew price

Off to Crawley on a dreary old day, to cheer them on against Coventry, who aren't mathematically safe themselves. You'd suspect that a draw might not be enough for Crawley, but they aren't a bad side at home (as good as the likes of Bradford and Fleetwood) and the locals seem hopeful that they might nick it. 6/4 here and there, which does rather tempt me.

The logistics here are more complicated than the Normandy Landings, but in theory the game is followed by several pints of Doombar, then home in time to watch the Guineas. No strong views on that, though I did think earlier in the week that Bolger had a glint in he eye when he was talking about Lucida. Good luck all round.

Khan wouldn't lay a glove on him and another defeat could damage his American pedigree

Even money on Mayweather certainly looked even more generous in hindsight. Remember this is a guy who ain't stopped anyone for a good few years and he likes to coast without breaking sweat. Hear a lot of once a decade boxing fans, not here btw, moaning about it being boring but they'd obviously never seen Floyd fight. The guys a defensive counter punching maestro, so not sure what they were expecting. 49 and 0, the numbers don't lie. In Mannys defence I think he's more declined than Floyd, he'd a given a better showing 4 years ago. His post fight interview was very poor though, bit classless really, which disappointed me as we'd been painted the picture of a really nice, humble man which sadly in the heat of the moment didn't come through.

You're probably right, but I love Amir Khan too (the polar opposite of Floyd, you could say) and if he could get through early enough you never know. A longshot granted!

FINTRY 2/1 already been put up. The French maestro won it last year, he'll do the same again.

Khan's a ****ing joke, no way he deserves a shot at Mayweather not even close to being in the same league, he'd be better doing the sensible thing and fighting Pacqioua instead, but he'll still lose that one aswell.

Have to say i'm very disappointed to read this morning Pacqioua and Freddie Roach blaming a pre fight 'injury' to Pacqioua for his loss. bad sportsmanship if you ask me and wouldn't have expected it from these two

keen racing on the heath today, very competitive as you would expect ,done some e/w shots to provide interest. but i'm going to back a horse at salisbury that his trainer targets every year, winning with it two years ago at 16/1 , close second last year and is available at 8/1 this year-2 05 Rockfella -
At hamilton the ridicuolus form of Linda Perrat leads me to back her only runner there Stentorian at 33/1 in the 2.45 -shouldnt have a hope but her stable form is blinding..

    good luck ....

Agreed. Can't abide excuses for beaten athletes (or horses) either. All a bit David Haye for my liking. I'm disappointed in the whole post fight reaction from Team Pacquiao. True champions rarely reel out the excuse book do they but those that don't fall into that category often do.

Boxing hasn't seen one of those since Sugar Ray hung his gloves up.

As for Mayweather, he may be a prodigious talent, but I defy anyone to warm to the obnoxious prick.

Legatissimo in the Guineas for me. Good luck all.

By the way Oddy - was at the Watford match yesterday - what a fantastic bunch the Wednesday fans are. Really enjoyable afternoon even allowing for the last minute equaliser...

Glad to see you still made it up Dan, and best of luck for next season <ok>

Traditionally the last away match of the season sees us take a large number, most of whom are wearing fancy dress. Usually a good party <laugh>

Going with Osaila in the 1000 Guineas. It doesn't look a very strong renewal, so I don't think it'll take a lot of winning. Atleast Osaila has proven she's trained on this year, so I'm giving her a chance at 9/1

Money is down for no way jack now from 6s to 7/2.i was just on the blower to my mate who is close to the stable and they are a little concerned that the ground is so heavy so waiting to see if the price drifts near the off.they do think versailia gal will love the conditions in the 3.30 and although it's a tougher race the horse ran ok last week.
One I do really like is cailini alainn(beautiful girls) in the 4.40 who is taking a big step down in class and should go very close.very tough race to call across the pond in the 1000 guineas but i'll be on the jellicle ball with a saver on legatissimo ew for inform trainer/jockey
I do like a footy punt on a Sunday and can see Spurs/Man City game ending in a stalemate as both teams are not really in form and don't have much to play for at this stage of the season. Draw result appeals at 11/4
