Morning all, mine's a Large Mocha! I've already had one, but today is a "slow Monday", so I'd like another just to kick start my activities!

This will cheer you up - went shopping to Westfield shopping centre in Shepperd's Bush yesterday. If you ever wondered where the detritus of society go, they go there!!! So we're in a sports retailer looking at stupid things, like footy boots costing £250+ (what is wrong with my £9.99 Umbro's?) looking at rucksacks and holdalls when I see what I call the "bank robber's holdall", the twin handled holdall as seen in Dirty Harry in the 1960's and Lock, stock and shooting whatever's with everyone's friend Vinny.

I say "now that's what I call a bank robber's holdall" particularly loudly to see who I can embarrass ........ one bloke in particular - an overly muscular West Indian, 20 stone and 6 foot 99 tall ....... I am still giggling now!

It helps if I can giggle this morning, because I was also on the early morning "get the kid to the long distance trip" bus. The lucky lad is off to North Yorkshire!!!

Aha success, I've just woken one of my colleagues up by squashing an errant fly!!!! Laugh.

Morning All, Bright and sunny as expected and already getting pretty warm.

Our small hamlet is currently enlarged in numbers by the refugees from Paris who spend several weeks in the country at this time of year. My neighbours son Eric The Hammer, was in full swing with his electric circular saw before eight this morning. His parents save up all of the jobs for him to do when he is on his annual holiday.

His cousin and her husband are also here getting "some good country air", except that the first thing that they do is get the BBQ out and send clouds of smoke upwards. Why use charcoal when you have plenty of bits of old wood to be disposed of?

The holiday season starts out here now at the begining of July, H. It spreads it out over two months instead of just August. I guess it has something to do with the fact that less people are employed harvesting and more are stuck in offices and shops.

Talking of shops, there was an article in the newspaper the other day about the huge number of shopping centres being built on the outskirts of the large towns. The question was how many more do we need and how can the small traders in the towns make a living. Not so very different to the UK on that one.

Oh, well spreading it out is good for most people, but not so good for you i suspect! I did always think it was odd that everyone went on holiday at the same time...

Oh dear, the death knell of the little shop, how sad :(
