England batsmen doing their best to throw this one away. Their fragility against pace doesn't augur well for the Ashes. We'll do well to get 100 in this innings which will be a difficult job to defend, only the propensity of the Windies batsmen to self-destruct is in our favour. Anderson will need another masterclass...
I'm actually rooting for the West Indies to win this. Partly because English cricket needs a massive shake-up, but also because I miss the great Windies sides of the 70s and hate to see them so diminished in the standings.
Got your wish Strolls. Poor stuff from England, but it would be nice to see a strong Windies team again.
Considering eight of Windies first choice players were in India for the IPL, this has to rank as one of our worst defeats and series for some time. It may also spark a Windies revival as some of their youngsters look excellent prospects, only their propensity for self-destruction through indiscipline stands in their way...
Trott has announced his retirement from international cricket. While I have some sympathy for him as he's obviously been through a tough time and was a class batsman at one time, you can't help thinking someone should had advised him not to try to come back some time ago.
Can't blame Trott for wanting to give it a go, but Cook and the other selectors shouldn't have been in such a rush to get him back in the side. Seems Andrew Strauss is about to be appointed as some kind of new Supremo. As a mate of Cook's that appointment is hardly going to shake things up.
England continue to operate like a Gentlemen's Club and therein lies the problem. Strauss is obviously the 'right sort'...
Are they actually playing Swords? It's pouring rain down here and has been since early hours of this morning.
