The passing was far too slow in that half, Mata keeps coming inside because he has nobody to link with, Felli needs to drop back and Herrera go up with Mata. I know Felli is poor at DM but they are showing little threat.
HT - It's hard to play against a team who have only come to defend, backs against the wall and 10 playing in their own box, but we haven't played with any real pace (as per usual again) or with any purpose to our passing. Take off Fellaini, put Mata behind RvP and bring on Di Maria.
Henry shows that we haven't gone down the wings, played the virtually everything sideways and backwards and makes the point that if that's what you're going to do then "At some point someone has to beat his man." I haven't thought much of Henry as pundit but that line there is spot on
Beating a man is pointless if you run straight into another man. Thats what happens when you have a team camped in their own box. Someone does need to split the defence though.
You know the worst thing about the way we play, and the cumbersome way we pass the ball and hold possession??? We don't even tire them out.
By sussing out that if you sit deep and are well organised, United will pass themselves to death and you'll get at least a point. The goal in itself isn't the point, it just makes us beating them even more difficult which is the point.
