Well that was horrid to watch. Possibly the least enjoyable match of the whole season. No-one was bang on form, I disagreed with the subs, and hated the ref. And now feel very grumpy and in need of a double G&T. The sun better shine tomorrow
I do agree with all that LTL, it just seems very harsh that our best defender today (Clyne didn't have to do much at the back) is the one to lose out. Maybe this is the way to make everybody happy?
Horrible result, very poor indeed. Despite the great season it's a very depressing end to the campaign and even more upsetting that the two teams who have won the least amount of games in the Premier League have both beaten us. Also what the heck are the all the pundits on about us having a great record against Sunderland? By my reckoning our last nine meetings have resulted in the princely sum of one win, four draws and four defeats, okay the only win was 8-0 but we hardly have been dominating the fixture. To me we should put that away fixture on the same list as Tottenham, Everton and Stoke, go up, lose, come home. Oh well, Aston Villa next week....we've got 100% record against Tim Sherwood, I predict a 3-2 defeat
Well, that sounded ****.] Was listening post match to Radio Solent on the way home from work, one caller (maybe a text in), said Koeman out. Wtf?
Agreed; given the awful news about Rio F's wife loosing her battle with cancer today; some people need the get a little perspective about life!
Well that was fun. Sunderland fans I met before the match thought we would walk this match at least by 2 goals. I said they had the Indian sign on us and it would be 1-1. Am I just unlucky? Only home game last season Cardiff defeat.,3 Sunderland games last season, 2 defeats and 1 draw. Then today. We really were poor today, Europa League would be painful with our limited resources. When even King Jose is off form we are stuffed. Didn't think anyone apart from Kelvin had a good game.
Man City have lost their last 5 away games while palace have lost 4 of their last 6 home games. I wouldn't put it past us grabbing 2 wins there. That said, it's also highly unlikely you aren't going to pick up any points. I think you will finish above us by a point or two.
Once again Saints are above Manchester at the moment, flying home from Newcastle in their Chariot 9H-AHA Boeing 737, due in at 20:00. I would have made them walk home after that performance. United lost too, Commentator said West Brom just done a Southampton, beat United 1 - 0 at Old Trafford.
Absolutely, though it's still very unlikely; even if we don't gain another point, Swansea would need five from Arsenal (A), Man City (H) and Palace (A). We would appear to be all but nailed on for seventh.
Which will then enable Sunderland to beat Leicester the following week, without it hurting Leicester too much. And of course we lose to Villa as well. Um, how can we help Hull to catch Newcastle? Oh, guess Gaston will have to score the winner for them sometime soon.
Despite Spurs and Liverpool's best efforts we've won the race for seventh. And as a Europa League ambivalent I'm not really upset.
Professional foul, straight red. I too think it's likely to be overturned; Defoe looked to have lost control (which made bulldozing him all the more needless).
