I wouldn't say it's overly bias. The replay showed they ran into each other, and then i had to endure the commentator going on for at least 10 minutes about how a red was too much. A commentator would never be biased.. right?
As I say, they have Arsenal and City next up. And even Palace away on the last day isn't easy. Even if we lose three out of three, they will still need five points from those three. If they get them, then fair play to them. Hopefully Villa beat West Ham at home next (which they should), as that will greatly increase our chances of beating them at home. And if we do that, Swansea will need to win all three. Good luck with that.
No way was it a red card as Yoshida was there, and he had already lost the ball. That said, you can't really complain that a penalty was given. It was a foul. It was in the box. It was stupid by JWP. But also bad defending to lead up to it. Have to say we deserved to lose today.
It really wasn't difficult to call though. I was amazed at some of the pre match comments. Hull at home to Liverpool. Villa at home to Everton. Sunderland at home to us. All within the last few days. At this stage of the season, you throw away what the result should be on paper. Had Burnley or QPR been at home today, I'd have backed them too.
We will finish at least 7th, but disappointing performance. The red-card allows us to have an excuse, but I thought we were second best today and didn't do anywhere enough to win the game.
We have an unfortunate run in with the last 3 games.. Leicester and Aston Villa battling to avoid the drop and then your typical Man City side. My heart says we can still make Europa, but my head says that missing that would be more beneficial, it's been a death sentence for clubs of similar stature to us whose squads aren't the size of small island nations.
This was one game. Just one. We played badly. It happens! It's not like this has been our level for the past 3 months...!
Yep, can see the rational, just don't want the season to end on a damp squib, albeit this is one game and should be kept in context.
Folks, when Tom is telling you you're overreacting, you know it's bad. **** game, but the world is not over.
By the way, but for a cracking save right at the end we'd have drawn that, despite being at 10 men and playing terribly. Other than the 2 pens, it's not like they really threatened either.
Would appreciate it if you didn't use your disappointment to turn on your fellow supporter, TT. Cheers.
STOP PRESS! "Not606 Saints fans in massive over-reaction, 2 minutes after their team loses match" shock!
When will they get rid of that bullshit rule of red card and pen for the same incident. If you get a pen you're not being denied a goal scoring opportunity. Sometimes I just think... **** football.
If we break it down. Say we don't get a point from now so stay 4 points clear. Swansea have Arsenal (A) Man City (H) Palace (A) I can't see them beating Arsenal so that's say that is a loss. That would mean Swansea have to win their last two games. Not even a draw would be enough. I can't see that can you?
Jizzflakes. Well looks like 7th, not a bad position though. We would have all taken that if offered in Aug. And may still make Europa.
