Carver has burned all bridges with the team now with that post match interview. Will be interesting to see what happens. Never heard a manager accuse someone of getting deliberately sent off before.

The team on Final Score are basically saying we were mugs to hound out Pardew and that events since he left have proved how managers here have their hands tied behind their backs and that all things considered he did a good job in those circumstances. They might have a point.

    We deserve to be.
However, unless Sunderland can pick themselves up again and get back ahead they will struggle to catch us. Burnley and QPR losing look down now.
If there is any justice though we will go down as at least those teams are trying.

Indeed. Its not because Pardew, its because many of us knew what followed. We are reaping alright. Yeah there is a bigger picture of reasons why we are are where we are. However you cannot get away from the simple fact that the fans forced Pardew away and that meant Carver. Many others saw no value in such a situation, and they have been proved correct.

I will go one step further - and no doubt make myself unpopular with many - and say that there are many people who must take a share of the blame if we go down, not least the players, Ashley, and Carver, but also the people who tried to hound Pardew out and joined in with sackpardew.com. There are a lot of people who like to moan when the club doesn't do things they want. This forum - and others - have had people who had badgered for years for Pardew to go, badgered for us to sign Remy Cabella, repeatedly moaned about Santon and Mbiwa. I am not saying they were all wrong, but they got what they wanted and now many of those same people are now complaining that they did get what they want.

I'm not singling anyone out today. Willo will get a load of ****e as usual. The lad isn't good enough and be playing PL football for us. However two of our supposedly more talented players, Sissoko and Colo got us into the hole with their split pea heart commitment, so I'm not having the easy game of usual suspects. They are all culpable.

We'd be already safe if we'd stuck with Pards...

I'm not in any of those camps, but I will speak on their behalf. Not one of them advocated selling players consistently and not replacing them. The financial policy of the club is squarely responsible for this.

They weren't campaigning against the financial policy though when they were abusing Pardew. Pardew was equally a victim of the financial policy - as anyone who is ever manager of us will be while Ashley is the owner. What they did was make it clear to someone who was getting the most out of the ****ty system we have that he wasn't wanted. We lost a decent manager and they have to take their share of the blame in that. We now have someone far worse - which was always going to be the case - and we look like we are going down. Having lost 8 games in a row that is exactly what we deserve.

We may have lost our last two games but I have to say being a Palace fan is great with that nice Mr Pardew in charge.

We were not wrong to get Pardew out as he wasn't all that good, however, what we didn't want was his sidekick taking over as he was part of the problem. Ashley thought I'd save a few bob by waiting a further 6 months for an appointment and this has backfired badly.
Let us remember that Carver has been responsible for training and in all that time we have never learned to defend dead ball situations, can't take corners or free kicks, persist in playing a lone small CF yet keep just humping the ball up to him, which then comes straight back. Complete joke, and we are getting injury after injury in training too. ( I reckon players just don't want to play under Carver. )
Perhaps someone can confirm that every team Carver has been associated with were relegated.

I admit that I wanted Pardew fired a couple of seasons ago, straight after a home heavy Liverpool and then Sunderland defeat. But he was a symptom of the Ashley's regime, rather than the main issue. My main issue of Pardew was that he never complained when the team was so obviously weakened.

I'd say with your line of reasoning, the fans will always carry some blame for wanting things different. But as have some others have said, we're in a wretched existence and if we go down, then no other team deserves it more than our team.

The silver lining to relegation is the knowledge that Ashley's TV profits will be not given to Ashley. He'll feel some pain, which I feel he deserves.

The table says otherwise. It doesn't matter what we want, its about judging what was likely to follow with this regime and assessing how the constraints were restricting the manager.

Sunderland and Villa both won. Looking at the games left I can't see us staying up - not without big changes before the next game.
