Mayweather v Pacquiao Venue: MGM Grand, Las Vegas Date: 2/3 May: 21:00 local time/05:00 Sunday BST A thread for those who follow the pugilists and since this is one of the biggest, most anticipated fights of all time.
If Paco wins it'll be by stoppage between rounds six and ten IMO. If Floyd wins it'll be on points. I'd like to see Paco win it but I think Floyd will. The draw at 20-1 is a tempter too, bound to be some dodgy points to get a rematch
Another fight where Mayweather will be a defensive fighter tie Paquiao up in his arms and lots of holding. Mayweather is talented by **** me is he boring to watch. Paquiao needs to land a coupe of heavy punches early on to make this actually interesting
True, its about six or seven years too late but it should still be a good fight. If Paco wins, there will be a rematch IMO. Not necessarily the other way around though.
Tecate mate. It's an American brand of piss. Sorry, I wrote b̶e̶e̶r̶ piss there but autocorrect kicked in
Mayweather vs Pacquiao: Floyd forced into fight, claims Freddie Roach Floyd Mayweather has been forced into a fight he would rather avoid and may not even turn up for his welterweight showdown with Manny Pacquiao, claims the Filipino’s trainer Freddie Roach. Undefeated Mayweather and Pacquiao will finally meet after years of haggling in the early hours of Sunday morning with the WBC, WBA and WBO belts up for grabs and bragging rights as the greatest boxer of his generation. please log in to view this image Highlights of the final press conference for Mayweather v Pacquiao, Sky Sports Box Office, May 2 - book via your Sky remote, phone or online now The build-up to the richest fight in history has been notable for the lack of trash talking from Mayweather and Roach, Pacquiao's master trainer, views that as a symptom of his uncertainty. Roach believes the 38-year-old's television paymasters Showtime, who have a six-fight contract with the American, ordered the clash the boxing world has craved for the last five years. "I don't know why Floyd's been so quiet. I'm wondering if he's going to show up, I really am," Roach said. "At the first press conference I said we were going to kick his ass, but there was no response. His speech was very low-key and subdued. I'm not sure he is going to show up. "I think Floyd was forced into this fight and it's not a fight he wants. He always gets to pick and choose his opponents, but he wasn't able to pick and choose this one because Showtime wanted this fight. "I don't think he wants this fight. Sometimes we do things we have to do to please companies and to make money. He was forced into a fight he didn't want." Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, who was sat alongside boxer and trainer at Wednesday's press briefing, jumped in quickly to reassure the public the fight is not in danger of collapsing. "What Freddie means is, will Floyd show up when he gets in the ring. Of course he's going to show up. Keep buying the pay-per-views," said Arum. Mayweather, who has often courted controversy and flaunted his wealth, said he no longer needs to indulge in trash talk. "Me speaking loud and having personality, I did that in the past," said the 38-year-old. "I'm a lot older and wiser, this fight sells itself. I don't have to do it." http://www1.skysports.com/mayweathe...-floyd-forced-into-fight-claims-freddie-roach
my opinion is mayweather will defend a lot and manny will i nthe main be pnuch the guy in the arms not anywhere dangerous. I can see it going to points for sure. I agree with luv... its massively overhyped and two over the hill fighters who should have done it bac kwhen they beat up fat ricky hatton.
World sports streams on your android phone or box ... it'll be HD quality. You could get a chrome cast and watch it from your phone on your TV
As for the fight Paquaio wins ... bet365 have 50/1 for 3rd round win. All others are 35/1 or less. Could be worth an oul sneaky fiver or tenner.
Can't be arsed staying up for this one but will catch it Sunday morning. Had the fight been made when it should have been i.e. 5 years ago, I wouldn't have missed it for the World, but both men are now past their best and Pacquiao has been tagged far too many times. Mayweather will grind it out, and will either win comparably on points or will catch Pacquiao late on when he's tired and punched out. Manny has a punchers chance but I can't see Mayweather allowing him to get clean shots at him and he'll use all of his 5 inch reach advantage to keep him at jabs length and then tie him up when he looks to move inside.
So who's staying/getting up for this then?? Some mates of mine are off to a casino to watch, could've gone but it would just be a load of flash knobs paying overpriced for everything, including an entry ticket and the ****e food that you have to have as part of the bundle Don't care enough about it to go out, plus it could only last 3 minutes after all the build up and hype
I'm staying up for it. Think it'll be a Mayweather win but hoping for a Manny win. I think the 3 minute thing is a point with any boxing match. Some people are paying up to $60k for a ticket, which is crazy and its probably more so they can say "I was there" rather htan actually to watch the boxing.
Not seen any of them fight for years. This would have been the fight it is billed as 5 years ago but now it is just a pay day. Mayweather wouldn`t get in a ring with Manny back then, now it`s too late and will prove nothing. What time does it start?
