I can sum up how my opinion to Allam has changed over the last two years or so.... Feb 2013 - My uncle, late Dad and myself were meandering around the Reebok Stadium before kick off against Bolton, (that amazing game where we went 3-0 down in 8 mins and were police-kettled after the match). Randomly we see Assem Allam and his wife get out their car in front of us. We spoke, thanked him and gave him the thumbs up sign. Jump forward to April 2014, we're in the FA Cup Semi-Final, (the last match I really really enjoyed being at tbh - better than the final imo), and the name change had been rejected by the FA. I still didn't really want Allam out. Like a few I was foolishly hoping he'd seen the light and believed it was nothing more than a bit of innocent ill-judgement by a chairman who genuinely did not understand football. Then we get to his plan to appeal the name-change in September and I really started to dislike him. Then all the other contempt that has built up over recent months has made me absolutely hate him and I want him out now. I really would prefer League 2 without Allam than the PL with him. It makes me feel sick thinking that, especially after all the years my Dad supported the club just wishing them to reach the top flight. ****ing hate what Allam has caused.
It's well known that I am "On the Fence" when it comes to the name change but this did make me chuckle: please log in to view this image
Sure, go you. Save all your protests until we're relegated. You can then blame the people who are protesting now, for what you believe in, for you not being able to watch the PL anymore.
Of course it's greener, cos none of those owners you mentioned are anywhere near as bad as Allam. Only Ashley is really unpopular from that list, and that's only because he doesn't spend money on the club. I guess to the Premier League only fan that's what's important but to me the club itself is far more important than what division its in. Having an owner who refuses to spend would be far preferable to one who has turned our club against its fans and whose chief aim is to piss everyone off, fuelled by spite. It's destroying the club, and a few of you ignore it because we're in the Premier League.
I'd like a chairman that knew what the club meant for fans, and that tried to match his business skills with their desires and ideals. We certainly haven't got that. I'm not really sure how a campaign to remove a chairman works. Unless they fold the club, they can only go if there's a buyer. There are a lot of chancers out there, who won't miss an opportunity for a quick quid with no concern for the damage they cause. The Allams have shown time and again that if pushed, they just dig deeper. I guess I'm asking, is there a better, more productive way? There's a few thousand of us on here, anyone any connections that could suggest a buyer?
I know it's not a helpful answer, but I really don't think Allam would go along with a fans buyout, or even a buyout supported by the fans, even if someone had the money. He loves having us by the balls and he won't just give that up easily. I think it's just gonna get worse and worse, probably until he dies. Looking from the outside, why won't the Oystons leave Blackpool? It's the same thing here.
I agree, he wouldn't talk to the fans in the first place for the suggestion to be made. I was more trying to think of an alternative approach. and wondered if 20,000 passionate salesmen could find a suitable buyer?
Sorry Dutch but dont you think its all pie in the sky once you get down to it. An owner who is going to invest millions and do everything the fans want??? Man City are now ramping up prices after years of been this lovely fluffy club who want to work with the council etc. Liverpool are going to build an extension and increase ticket prices. West Ham will increase ticket prices once they've destroyed the opposition round them. Same everywhere.
I can't believe I've not realise this before. He's using divide and conquer tactics. Playing different groups of people against each other. City fans vs City fans, City vs FC, The community clubs against City fans. All these takes away the spotlight away from the main culprit.
What does it say about "the balls" and convinction of the protest if by what you're saying , the protests will die down once the final whistle has blown vs Man U. I know it's easy to have a go at me and bring up some dumb premier league agenda so I don't blame you. But the reality is we could be in a promotion race from league 1 or relegation from the championship, I would still want to focus on the football. After all, that's why we all became supporters no? Because we love the sport? And non of the fat ****s shouting Allam out or calling him a **** could ever represent my convictions on the matter. Just because he's a disrespectful twat doesn't mean I'd lower myself to his level.
Who has ever indicated the protests will die down when the season ends? Hopefully they won't be needed as it'll be sorted when the FA Council meet on the 19th. You're not sat on the fence, you're merely weak in your conviction. As for lowering yourself to his level, you're only a "hooligan" & "die when they want" reference away from being him.
Just on that note, my answer would be no, I don't love the sport, I can't abide huge chunks of it. I'm not a football fan, I'm a Hull City fan. It's the social side of that that keeps me going.
I agree with this but i do love the sport/game, I just hate most of the professional game especially the PL. The cheating diving the money they earn etc repulse me.
meh Im an Ull City team fan. I don't give a **** what were called. I don't give a **** what AA says about us as fans. I've got a thick skin. (I have to, after coming on here with all the abuse from the 6 year old's and the senile members)
Aye. I want us to be in the PL but i dont know why at times as it doesnt bother me. More so that its Hull in the best division i think where a city our size should be. But on a match basis i dont care really i look forward to seeing mates and going to pub before and after as much as owt.
