Koeman has been there and done it and understands what is going through the minds of the players.
He knows that you can be perfectly happy playing for Southampton, but the pull of a more prestigious club with bigger stadia is a great one.

After all the mud slinging of last summer, i'm happy that we're doing all we can to try and keep players. Even though the fans have not been complimentary to last seasons turn coats, they've all acknowledged there time at Saints as a positive experience.

When Le Tissier picked up his award he said he put personal happiness above all else and playing for Saints meant you played against the same teams as every other club in the league.
Wise words, but he played at a time when the champions league was not this all powerful juggernaut and was reserved for just the champions

I do fear for us slightly tomorrow. If I'm a Sunderland fan, I am absolutely targeting three points tomorrow; they are desperate for the points. At this stage of the season form and ability so often go out of the window. Time and time again it comes down to who needs the point more than us. Yes of course we want the points to try and finish 5th (or at least 6th), but I'm sorry, taking the rose-tinted spectacles off, survival is a bigger need/desire than getting up to 5th place.

If we score early, then it may well be a totally different story. Sunderland heads go down, fans start venting their anger etc. But otherwise, yes, I am fearful. Illogically logically fearful.

I don't think that 'needing' the points will help Sunderland at all. They are where they are for a good reason; they're a poor side. They might be fighting for their lives, but that's only because they've been sub standard all season. it's the better side who has the advantage, not the one who 'needs it most'.

Just posted new thread where an article in the Guardian discusses where Sunderland have gone wrong compared with us.

Spot on, which is why I believe we have a strong chance to win our next three games.

Put that feeling in a bag Fran, create some space at the bottom of your wardrobe and then leave it in there covered by an old, unworn coat.

Leave it there. That was then. This is now.

Space...in a wardrobe! This is a woman you are talking to...I'm not even sure my wardrobe has a floor, it's been so long since I've seen it.

Nice to see you've been busy Fran. I've just boiled a couple of eggs and brewed a pot of tea.

It's not my stuff that clutters the house, it the children and grandchildren stuff that fill the loft and shed. Agree with Fran about always have a doubt about Saints, long ingrained.

My clothes now have room to breathe and the stuff at the bottom of the wardrobe is down to about 18''. :)

Only way to get rid of all that stuff is to move. Suddenly all that stuff that you would need one day doesn't seem so essential when you realise you need to get everything into a lorry that doesn't need a police escort and a Convoi Exceptionel sign.

You're right....I left a bigger house and ditched a small lorry load of furniture and chattels...most of which had scarcely been used for 20 years.

Also helps to suffer an illness and suspect that your son might have to go through your chest of drawers in the near future.....I threw out....wait for it.....69 pairs of knickers. <laugh>

Hmmm, don't think it can be completely forgotten even under that old coat.

Alright lads, must win game this for us. I think a draw is most likely though. You're nowt flash away and were very difficult to beat. True we're prone to collapse but despite their being 10 places and 27 points between us we've only lost two games more than you. Over 50% of our conceded goals have come when we've collapsed. More often than not we're solid as a rock but hapless at scoring goals. Will we collapse? It's possible but don't be fooled by some of our heavy defeats, we're extremely frustrating to break down.

Those traveling currently, have a safe round trip. :)

Inside dressing room at SOL. Why does Ronald need a towel?

I remember RK using a towel as a blanket over his legs when he gets a bit chilly in the dugout.
