"Prob well done by now?!" Wandsworth referred the matter to Transport for London (TfL), calling it "not a very nice sight" and asking them to remove it. @RizWasti Not a very nice sight! @TfL please can you remove this from the roof of your bus shelter o/s 79 St. John's Road, SW11 1QZ — Wandsworth Council (@wandbc) April 13, 2015 The Wandsworth Guardian reports the aroma has got one commuter's goat, with graphic designer Suzanne Perkins asking the paper: "Why has it been there so long? The goat's owner, Mr Alifi, said he surprised the man with his goat and took him to a council of elders. They ordered the man, Mr Tombe, to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars ($50) to Mr Alifi. "We have given him the goat, and as far as we know they are still together," Mr Alifi said. Mr Alifi, of Hai Malakal in Upper Nile State, told the Juba Post newspaper that he heard a loud noise around midnight on 13 February and immediately rushed outside to find Mr Tombe with his goat. "When I asked him: 'What are you doing there?', he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up." Mr Alifi then called elders to decide how to deal with the case. "They said I should not take him to the police, but rather let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife," Mr Alifi told the newspaper. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-452655/Man-widowed-goat-wife-chokes-death.html Man widowed after his goat 'wife' chokes to death By FRED ATTEWILL Last updated at 15:45 04 May 2007 A Sudanese man who married a goat was in mourning today after his wife died when she swallowed a plastic bag. Charles Tombe shot to fame last year when he tied the knot with Rose. A court ordered him to marry the beast "to save her honour" after he was caught making amorous advances toward the mother-of-one in the middle of the night. Scroll down for more ... please log in to view this image Mr Tombe and Rose are believed to have lived happily ever after until her life was cruelly cut short. The story, which became one of the world's best read tales, began in Juba, southern Sudan, in February last year when the BBC reported that the then owner of the goat, Mr Alifi, was awoken in the night by a strange noise. Walking out of his traditional hut, he was confronted by the sight of Mr Tombe and Rose in a passionate embrace. Today the Times reported that Mr Alifi said: 'When I asked him "What are you doing there?" he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up." When Mr Tombe was brought before a council of elders he claimed he was drunk when Rose caught his eye. He was ordered to pay Mr Alifi a "dowry" of 15,000 Sudanese dinars - about £25 - since he was considered to have used the goat "as his wife." In the same way a man is expected to marry a woman if he has sex with her in southern Sudan, Mr Tombe was deemed to have married Rose. However, despite a happy marriage money was tight and Rose died after swallowing a plastic bag as she scavenged for food on the streets of Juba. She is said to have left a male kid - not a boy. It is not yet known whether she will be cremated or used in a local speciality of goat curry. Tom Rhodes, a Briton who helped to found the Juba Post which first broke the story, said townsfolk still congratulate him. “It shows the Sudanese have a sense of humour,” the Times reported he said. Drug barons accidentally delivered cocaine worth £11million and hidden in boxes of bananas to Aldi 19:50, 5 May 2015 By Chris Hewett Huge drugs haul accidentally posted to budget supermarkets in 'logistical mistake' Huge drugs haul accidentally posted to budget supermarkets in 'logistical mistake' please log in to view this image Staff at the Aldi stores in Berlin were stunned to discover millions of pounds worth of cocaine hidden in banana boxes Drug barons in Columbia will be going bananas after £11million worth of cocaine hidden in fruit boxes was accidentally delivered to a group of Aldi supermarkets. Large shipments of the drug were mistakenly delivered to 13 branches of the supermarket in Berlin in what police have labelled "a logistical mistake". Packets of the class-A substance were found hidden in boxes of bananas that travelled through the port of Hamburg and onto the budget grocery stores. Bizarrely, it is not the first time the supermarkets have received an unwanted shipment of drugs. One gang from the West Midlands even concealed heroin in packets of chilli powder but the shipment was intercepted at Leeds Bradford airport.
Monty or Wearside Pride? A “STUPID” robber who dropped his mobile phone at the scene of a frightening street attack was caught when he rang the police to try and get it back. Paul Knight had grabbed his victim’s handbag strap as she walked in Farringdon, Sunderland, with her husband at night and dragged her to the ground, leaving her bruised and scared. You dropped your mobile phone and in a rather unsophisticated act you telephoned the police and inquired if someone had handed it in. That is how you came to be arrested. Judge Edward Bindloss When the 25-year-old mugger later realised he had dropped his phone during the struggle, he called the police to see if he could get it back. As a result of his call, Knight, of Anglesey Square, Sunderland, was arrested. At Newcastle Crown Court yesterday he was jailed for two years and four months after pleading guilty to robbery. During the hearing Knight was branded “stupid”, “incompetent” and “unsophisticated”. Judge Edward Bindloss told him: “You dropped your mobile phone and in a rather unsophisticated act you telephoned the police and inquired if someone had handed it in.
